Loose Reed Patents (Class 139/189)
  • Patent number: 8001998
Abstract: A weaving loom including a mechanism drawing-in threads, for insertion of picks, and for formation of a weaving shed, so as to render possible formation of a continuous angle or corner by a thread during weaving. The loom preferably also includes a vertical offset system, so that it is possible to weave a three-dimensional surfacic structure, the threads of which are continuous between the faces and at the level of the edges. The loom can be configured particularly for manufacture of continuous tridedral corners that are used as reinforcements for composite structures.

  • Patent number: 7506669
Abstract: The support is provided for a reed of a seam weaving machine used for joining two opposite ends of a synthetic fabric by means of a woven seam. The reed is provided with pivotally mounted reed dents (22). The support includes a tilt strip (24) and a pressure strip (30), as well as devices (26, 32) for positioning the tilt strip (24) and the pressure strip (30) at angles relative to the bearing mechanism. A roll is also provided which can be moved along a track across the width of the reed. A U-shaped bar (40) can also be placed on the front side of the reed dents (22).

  • Patent number: 6536481
Abstract: A weaving reed (3) having a plurality of reed dents (14) fixed in certain positions and which may be located in a reed baulk (6). The reeds may be plain reeds or reeds, with any profile, usable virtually on any loom. The dents are formed of wires and spaces (10) and are variably spaced. The variable spaces are formed by varying the thickness of the wires, the width of the spaces, or a combination thereof to produce fabrics with a desired warp density across the entire width of a given fabric. The reed may produce a consistent warp end density which improves the mechanical properties of a given fabric and also provides virtually consistent air permeability across the width of the finished fabrics. The reed can also produce changes in warp end density in a given fabric for certain desired effects. A rotary type reed (14) and weaving rotor (19) for multiple-shed looms are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6065503
Abstract: An apparatus for changing the beat-up positions of a reed in a weaving machine. The apparatus includes a drive, a drive member, a transmission and a kinematic chain. The kinematic chain is connected to the transmission and the pivot axle for the reed, with the pivot axle being pivotally mounted on the sley sword. A basic movement is imparted by the drive to the apparatus with the beat-up position of the pivot axle of the reed being changed by the drive member.

  • Patent number: 5168000
Abstract: A flat textile body is composed of adjacent bands (2) that extend in a perpendicular direction to its main center-plane (M). Each band has marginal sections (4) made of woven or knitted warp (6) and weft threads (8). Between the marginal sections at least most of the weft threads are floating threads. Adjacent marginal sections (4) of adjacent bands (2) are not linked to each other by purely mechanical means, i.e. glued or soldered. The resulting flat body is easy to produce in a precise manner and is very versatile. In particular, it can be cut along its main center-plane (M) into two symmetrical pile carpet plates.
