  • Patent number: 9206824
Abstract: A frame connector assembly is configured to releasably, rigidly, and safely join large frame members to one another to form temporary structures. A connector assembly typically comprises a housing, a hoop element, a first cam block, a second cam clock and a rotatable actuator adapted to be engaged by a torquing tool. The housing is secured within the first frame member. Rotation of the actuator causes the threadedly-engaged second cam element to force movement of the first cam element in a direction opposing a spring bias. The hoop element is resultingly pulled toward the housing, along with a cleat or other detent element which is affixed to the second frame member. The housing can be manufactured inexpensively by way of extrusion. The frame connector assembly is adaptable to facilitate rapid construction and disassembly of various frame joint configurations, including end-to-face joints, and mitered 90-degree joints.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a A coupling device for positioning elements for warp yarns, comprising a male coupling part (1) with a head (8) which, when elastically deformed, can be introduced into a female coupling part (11) via a passage (13) and assumes a larger transverse dimension beyond said passage, so that the head is detained there and the coupling parts (1), (11) are coupled. Beyond this passage (13), the female coupling part (11) comprises an axially displaceable uncoupling body (16) with an opening (17), so that the head can be introduced into this opening (17) and be deformed in the process to such an extent that it can be introduced into the passage (13) in order to uncouple the coupling parts.

  • Patent number: 7806149
Abstract: In order to make a small space requirement, a low energy requirement and therefore an increased weaving frequency possible in a shedding apparatus, a spring drive is proposed which is connected to magnetically acting holding means. The holding means are capable of holding the heddle frame in an upper shed position and in a lower shed position counter to the spring force. Furthermore, the heddle frame is connected to a linear motor. A heddle movement can be initiated by said linear motor. According to the invention, the spring drive is configured as a tension/compression spring which is designed in such a way that, during operation of the heddle frame at the resonant frequency of the spring drive the greater part of the kinetic energy can be obtained from the spring drive.

  • Patent number: 7779869
Abstract: A profile rod (15) preferably consisting of an extruded aluminum profile has lateral walls (18, 19) that have two snap-in zones (25, 26) that project toward each other and extend parallel to each other over the entire length of the profile rod (15) and that are located on the same height. The distances of the two snap-in zones (25, 26) from the closest strip (21) correspond to each other. In this manner, the profile rod (15) may be made extremely thin-walled, on the one hand, and offers possibilities for fastening profile pieces that permit the input of larger forces into the profile rod (15) as well as the output of such forces therefrom, on the other hand. This concept offers a basis for the construction of light-weight heald shafts that can still handle great loads.

  • Patent number: 7578316
Abstract: The heddle shaft rod (4) described originates in an extruded aluminum profile section with relatively thick side walls, which are removed in some regions and thereby made thinner. This can be done without substantial impairment to the rigidity of the heddle shaft rod, yet as a result a substantial reduction in weight is attained. The removal of material can be adapted to the local load conditions. For instance, it is possible at the ends or other force introduction points to leave unweakened thick walls, while the other regions of the side walls are milled off far enough that a uniform thinner wall thickness is attained. It is furthermore possible to vary the amount of material removed, either in multiple steps or in infinitely graduated fashion. The material removal pertains to a reduction in the wall thickness that is measured transversely to the movement direction of the heddle shaft rod.

  • Patent number: 7114528
Abstract: A heald shaft for weaving machine has a shaft rod (3) which is formed of a one-piece light-metal profile and two stiffening bodies (24, 25) glued to the shaft rod (3). The stiffening bodies bridge the entire width of the shaft rod (3), wherein the width is measured between the side walls (11, 12). The chambers 14, 16 for receiving the stiffening bodies (24, 25) each have at least one open side through which the stiffening body is visible from the outside and through which it may be introduced into the respective chamber (14, 16). This construction facilitates manufacture. Further, a rigidity in the working direction, as well as a good rigidity transversely thereto is achieved.

  • Patent number: 7069959
Abstract: A heddle shaft is formed of a hollow metal profile section into which an expanding element for vibration damping is inserted. The expanding element is for example a precompressed foam strip which expands after insertion into the internal chamber of the hollow metal profile section until it is seated with a certain initial tension between the side walls of the hollow metal profile section. It is embodied as a solid (non-liquid) body and is introduced as such into the internal chamber. For being locked in place, it can be provided with adhesive faces.

Abstract: A heald frame for a weaving machine includes stops (15, 16) made of a material with shock-absorbing properties associated with the ends of the healds (10). A gap is provided between the heald ends and the stops, such gap ensuring that the healds can be moved along guide rails forming part of the heald frame while reducing noise and potentially damaging vibrations. The healds are held on the guide rails with play and are moved by and limited in their movements in a longitudinal direction by the stops.

  • Patent number: 6926042
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a crossbeam for a heddle frame of a loom allowing to make, at low cost and without waste, a lightweight and very rigid crossbeam, whose heddle-support rod is positioned on the support section in an accurate position that is completely linear, controlled and capable of being reproduced. This manufacturing method is characterized in that one uses a rigid template that has at least one rectilinear groove having a width substantially equal to that of the heddle-support rod; one positions the non-rigid heddle-support rod in the groove to make it rectilinear; one lays a glue line on the junction zone; one positions a rigid support section that is not necessarily rectilinear in a predetermined manner on the template and on the heddle-support rod by flattening the glue line, and one maintains the support section and the heddle-support rod integral with the template, at lease while the glue is setting.
