  • Patent number: 10778072
Abstract: A control device moves a split claw (11) holding a projecting portion (4d) of an eighth-layer coil segment (4) in a counterclockwise direction D1. At this time, the control device moves first to third extended blades (13a) to (13c) in an outward direction D3 so that the projecting portion (4d) of the eighth-layer coil segment (4) is bent in the outward direction D3. Then, the control device moves the first to third extended blades (13a) to (13c) in an inward direction D4. Through the above steps, the projecting portion (4d) of the eighth-layer coil segment (4) is bent in the counterclockwise direction D1 while being bent in the outward direction D3. As a result, a return force tending to return in the inward direction D4 is generated by an elastic deformation force.

  • Patent number: 9694476
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for forming wire loops using wire looping pliers. In one embodiment of the invention, the pair of wire pliers having a cylindrical jaw and a recessed jaw for accepting the cylindrical jaw allows the user of the tool to make symmetrical wire loops on a consistent basis. Additionally, the width of the recessed jaw can be set such that the user can use the recessed jaw to measure the distance from a particular point where the neck of the wire loop should be broken. The recessed surface of the recessed jaw and the cylindrical jaw mate together in such a manner as to provide uniform pressure around a significant portion of the loop so as to prevent marring of the surface of the wire.

  • Publication number: 20130048141
Abstract: In a processing device the wire-ends are fed circularly to the peripherally arranged processing units. A loop-layer grasps a leading wire-end and lays it in a wire-loop. The wire is then advanced by a belt apparatus, and a loop-guide picks up a loop-end and moves upward until the wire-loop has attained the desired dimension and transfers the loop-end of the wire-loop to a holding element of a rotary star, which, by means of the loop-guide, is displaceable along a linear axle, depending on the length of the wire-loop.

  • Patent number: 8006723
Abstract: A loop-forming tool for forming a loop in a conductor has a grip with a first end section having a central post and an off-axis post mounted therein. The two posts are spaced to allow a conductor to pass therebetween and to grip the conductor when the tool is rotated, bending the conductor around the central post to form a U-shape. Rotating the tool in the opposite direction changes the U-shaped hook to a “?”-shaped hook for attaching to a tie-down bolt. Index marks can be provided on a terminal surface of the first end section to facilitate making consistent loops. The relative sizes of the posts can be configured to allow the tool to also serve to wrap the loop around the tie-down bolt, and to provide a screwdriver for subsequently tightening the tie-down bolt to secure the looped conductor thereto.

  • Patent number: 7343662
Abstract: In manufacturing a stator coil for a rotary electric machine, a U-shaped segment is deformed at the turn portion thereof so that one of two straight portions thereof moves against the other one in a direction generally perpendicular to a borderline which connects two bordering points between the straight portions and the turn portion. The segment is twisted by moving the straight portions apart from each other. The segment is inserted into slots formed in a stator core so that the turn portion and end portions of the straight portions protrude from both axial end surfaces of the stator core. The end portions are folded in the circumferential direction of the stator core. The tips of the end portions are connected to tips of other segments.
