Patent number: 5611377Abstract: A device for facilitating the draining of residual oil or fuel remaining in an oil or fuel filter is disclosed. The device includes an outer container or bucket having an inner basket disposed at least partially therewithin. The basket has a ribbed or screened surface that holds the oil or fuel filters and allows the fuel to drain from the filter and through the ribbed or screened surface down to a bottom of the outer container. The basket may include a lower sloping surface with an opening formed therein. Oil draining from an oil furnace filter strikes the lower sloping surface and is directed to pass through the opening down to the bottom of the outer container. When the basket is entirely disposed within the outer container, a cover closes the opening at the top of the outer container to prevent spillage of any accumulated oil in the outer container therefrom during transportation of the device in a vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1995Date of Patent: March 18, 1997Inventor: John R. Patent number: 5421381Abstract: The present invention provides a way for the do-it-yourself oil and filter changer to safely and cleanly drain used oil from the filter, and sealing and storing both filter and drained filter oil in the same container that crankcase oil is stored while keeping the drained filter dry and separate from the drained and collected oil. The invention solves a recent problem that has become apparent as used oil filters have become a culprit of land and water pollution. By allowing the do-it-yourselfer a convenient, safe and clean means to manage his used oil filter along with his used oil, it hampers the tendency to improperly dispose of these recyclable wastes by allowing more convenient and cleaner transport of these wastes to a collection center. This reusable container also eliminates the disposable items currently being used to transport used oil filters, thus eliminating these oily wastes from the wastestream.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1994Date of Patent: June 6, 1995Inventor: Bart W. Patent number: 5186223Abstract: An improved filling system for containers of mixtures of liquid and solid material where the liquid/solid ratio is critical is disclosed. A prior art problem was that sticky solid material would adhere to the receptacle or bucket in which it was delivered to a filling chute or funnel and it would also stick to the funnel. This problem is solved by putting the sticky solid in the buckets and by using the liquid to flush the funnel and by using an air jet to remove any remaining particles from the buckets which are upturned over the funnel. Alternately, a part of the liquid may be placed in the delivery bucket and when it is tilted or turned upside down to fill the container the remaining part of the liquid is used to rinse the receptacle. The filling system is especially useful for soups containing noodles or other pasta products.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 1992Date of Patent: February 16, 1993Assignee: W. R. Patent number: 4207933Abstract: A bottle contents transfer device having a base arranged for resting on a support surface and supporting in an elevated position a retaining rack arranged for holding a bottle or bottles to be drained. Disposed between the retaining rack and the base of the device is a shelf provided with a hole in which a funnel is removably received for directing a substance being drained into a container supported by the base. An adapter permits a funnel to be mounted on the retaining rack so as to allow containers to be drained which are unsuited for support by the retaining rack. Control of fluid flow through the funnels is realized by use of a valve element manually placeable in and removable from the drain portion of the funnel or funnels employed with the device.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1976Date of Patent: June 17, 1980Assignee: D & D Electric, Inc.Inventor: Edward H.
