  • Publication number: 20130284314
Abstract: A water container includes a bottle body containing water and a bottle mouth, a cup body detachably assembled to the bottle body, and a valve assembly secured to the bottle mouth. The valve assembly includes a ball and an elastic member. The ball and the elastic member are received in the receiving cavity. The elastic member is pressed between the ball the upper case and biases the ball towards sealing the opening. When the cup body is pushed toward the bottle body, the cup body drives the ball to unseal, to allow flow of water into the cup with no risk of spillage.

  • Patent number: 8028729
Abstract: The invention relates to a connecting subassembly for connecting an initial container and a target container. According to the invention, the connecting subassembly has an outlet cylinder and a control cylinder, wherein the outlet cylinder and the control cylinder can be displaced relative to each other, and the outlet cylinder and the control cylinder are designed such that they can be displaced with respect to each other, in an operating position in which the connecting subassembly is connected to a target container, between a closed position, in which the control cylinder interrupts a flow path through the outlet opening of the outlet cylinder, and an open position, in which the control cylinder releases the flow path through the outlet opening of the outlet cylinder. Use, for example, for motor vehicle fuels.

  • Patent number: 7621304
Abstract: A non-spilling, detachable pouring spout is configured to transfer liquid from a non-vented filling container to a receiving container. The spout has a spout body defining a first hollow passageway extending from an open first end to an open second end, wherein this open passageway having a generally tubular hollow inner conduit positioned within the first hollow passageway and defining a second hollow passageway. An intermediate sleeve is received in the spout and seals against portions of the spout body and the inner conduit so as to variously control the flow of materials out of the spout body, preferably the flow of liquid out of the spout and air into the spout as a venting system. The movement of said sleeve may be controlled by movement of an external sheath and may include child-resistant features. The preferred spout may achieve smooth air venting and liquid flow, and minimizes transverse/sideways flow and openings that tend to cause splash and leaks.

  • Patent number: 7607460
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a mixing unit comprising a sealed container joined to a second container. When the second container is fully united with the sealed container, a seal in the sealed container is breached and the contents of the first container and the second container can be mixed. The seal is breached by a bushing enclosed within the sealed container or enclosed in a coupler between the sealed container and the second container which is advanced against the seal, and ruptures the seal when the second container is advanced into the coupler of the coupler portion of the sealed container.

  • Patent number: 6474369
Abstract: A device for storing and mixing an injectate includes a fluid holder removably coupled to an ampoule. The fluid holder initially contains a fluid and the ampoule initially contains a dry reagent. A breakable membrane may be included between the fluid holder and ampoule to prevent the undesirable mixing of the fluid with the dry reagent. Upon application of force to a plunger rod disposed within the fluid holder, fluid is introduced into the ampoule wherein it is mixed with the dry reagent to create an injectable mixture. Air or gas present in the ampoule may be removed therefrom; the fluid holder may be decoupled from the ampoule; and the ampoule may be further coupled to a needle-less injector for administration of an injection of the mixture. The device is particularly useful for lyophilized pharmaceuticals that rapidly lose medicinal efficacy once in solution form.

  • Patent number: 6196281
Abstract: A fluid transfer system suitable for emptying a container or flask closed by a liquid-tight removable frangible closure obtained from a material that can be recycled. Photoprocessing materials are transferred from a first container having the frangible container into an adjoining second container. The frangible closure has a single closure sheet fixed to a lateral skirt for mounting the frangible closure on the spout of the flask, for example with a screw. The flask is emptied by tipping the flask onto a perforation device that perforates a central weakness in the closure sheet which connects with a radial weakness at the seam of the closure sheet and lateral skirt, allowing for lower puncture forces.

  • Patent number: 5484004
Abstract: There is disclosed a transfer closure valve for safely filling and emptying containers of any type with a liquid, pasty or powdery medium. The medium flows from a barrel into another container without escaping into the environment. The closure valve has a first housing in which is arranged a rotatable or slidable second housing which is fixed to a filler pipe. The second housing is provided with a lifting mechanism for lifting and lowering a lifting cap which opens or closes a lower outlet opening of the first housing. In a first position of the second housing the lifting cap closes the outlet opening, whilst in a second position of the second housing the filler pipe is brought into register with an upper connecting piece of the first housing and the lower outlet opening of the first housing.

  • Patent number: 5345981
Abstract: An applicator for fluid products includes a bottle enclosed by a cap having a partition defining in the cap an enclosed chamber. The partition includes an aperture which forms a passage between the enclosed chamber in the cap and the interior of the bottle. Rotating the cap for assembly to the bottle will place this passage in an unoccluded condition. As the bottle is inverted or shaken prior to use, the fluid contents of the bottle will travel through the passage and into the enclosed chamber in the cap. As the cap is rotated for removal from the bottle, a valve element will occlude the passage, trapping the fluid in the cap. Squeezing the cap to deform the sidewalls will force the fluid through a narrow bore in a supply stem leading to a dispensing tip.

  • Patent number: 5172740
Abstract: By employing two independent, separate and distinct flow paths which are controllably sequentially opened during use in a single actuation operation, an error-free, spill-free flame and explosion proof liquid delivery/filling system is achieved. In the preferred embodiment, both flow paths are normally maintained in a closed, sealed configuration, requiring an actuation force to controllably, sequentially open the flow paths. In addition, by providing a cooperating, mating liquid transfer assembly, the container on which the liquid delivery/filling system is mounted can be refilled with safety and ease, completely eliminating spillage of the liquid. In this way, a fully integrated, cooperating, liquid flow controlling system is realized.

  • Patent number: 5127276
Abstract: An inspection drain plug that is removably connected to an aperture in a fluid reservoir. The drain plug comprises an outer hollow body having an open first end and an open second end, the first end being removably connected in a fluid flow relationship to the aperture of the fluid reservoir. A valve mechanism is connected to the outer body, such that the valve mechanism may be selectively operated between an open and closed position, so that the first end of the outer body is closed when the valve is in the closed position. The drain plug also comprises a biasing mechanism, whereby the valve is biased toward the closed position. The first end of an inner hollow body, having an open first end and a closed second end, is removably inserted within the second end of the outer body. Upon insertion of the inner body within the outer body the closed second end of the inner body operatively engages the valve, thereby selectively moving the valve between the closed position and the open position.

  • Patent number: 5031675
Abstract: A device for sealing a container intended to be connected to a recipient provided with a connector for supply of its contents to the recipient in such a way that the container can be applied to and removed from the recipient without leakage and is sealed after the removal. For this purpose an elastic body is included in the device, which contains a cavity with a thin bottom, which cavity is adapted to the connector and is inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of the body, so that the interior portion of the body is displaced radially time of application of the device to the connector and opens a channel between the body and the container wall for air supply to the container. The interior portion of the cavity is smaller than the exterior portion of the connector to enable the connector to open the sealing device by widening a normally closed hole or slit located at the bottom of the cavity.
