  • Patent number: 5349995
Abstract: A device for collecting oil contained in plastic containers that are placed inside a housing that includes a puncturing assembly mounted to a slanted platform. The platform has a central opening through which the discharged oil passes. A flexible conduit is connected to the outlet in the housing at one end and the other end of the flexible conduit is connected to a storage tank with sufficient capacity to store a substantial amount of oil. A hingedly mounted cover in said housing helps in the urging and pressing of the plastic container against the puncturing assembly. The puncturing assembly includes a separator to ensure the faster rate of unit flow of the oil from the container.

  • Patent number: 5195567
Abstract: Filling units for supplying small tanks or the like with gasoline, kerosene, or other flowable materials which attach to an inlet to such a tank. When the filling unit is in a fill position, a displacer section occupies a substantial volume within the tank. It allows the person filling the tank to supply the liquid until the tank will accept no more and the liquid reaches a predetermined level in a funnel portion of the filler. Thereafter, manipulation of the displacer section vertically within the tank, as for example by sliding a section of the overall unit upward, accommodates all the liquid remaining in the funnel up to such predetermined level within the tank by occupying the volume previously occupied by the displacer section and thereby completing the filling of the tank to a full condition without any spillage.

  • Patent number: 5004353
Abstract: A fluid mixing accessory comprising a mixing receptacle integrally formed with a funnel. The accessory is formed of a flexible material which is lightweight and disposable. The measuring receptacle is a graduated cone for measuring the components of a mixture, such as the color, the hardener and the reducer of a paint composition. The funnel has an opening which, depending on the nature of the fluid being mixed, may include a gauze or mesh to act as a strainer. The funnel and the measuring receptacle are joined by a connecting portion. Thus, once the fluid has been mixed in the mixing receptacle, the accessory is inverted so that the mixture runs from the receptacle, across the connecting portion and into the funnel which is positioned over a container. After the funnel has emptied, the entire device then can be collapsed and discarded. The funnel is collapsible for convenient shipping and storage.

  • Patent number: 4751751
Abstract: A disposable urinating funnel for females comprises a thin, paper-like sheet which is folded in half to form two overlapping sections whose free edges are connected together and are tapered toward the fold line to form a funnel-like shape. The upper edges of the funnel-shape are curved to cover a female vaginal area, and the opposite, bottom edges form a spout-like portion. Score lines are formed midway between the fold line and connected side edges in each of the sections and extend upwardly from the bottom of the spout-forming portion toward the upper end of the funnel-like shape. Manually squeezing the fold line and connected side edges toward each other causes the otherwise flat funnel-like shape to open, by bowing the sections apart along the score lines. In addition, the tapered, connected-together edges are cut along a shallow curve which permits the funnel to be used with the fold line forwardly or rearwardly for selectively directing the flow of liquid through it.

Abstract: A funnel unit for use with automotive type vehicles. A motor vehicle requires periodic checking and maintenance of crankcase oil levels and transmission fluid levels. The crankcase oil inlet is normally near to top of the engine and is conveniently accessible. The funnel unit herein has two detachable main parts which are a cone member and an elongated tube member. When these two parts are attached the elongated tube facilitates access to the transmission inlet. The elongated tube may in some cases impede use of the assembled funnel unit for adding oil to the crankcase inlet, however, and in such case the two parts are separated from each other and cone member alone is used for adding oil to the crankcase.
