Patent number: 5145095Abstract: A dispenser for use in dispensing a semi-solid material such as a paste, gel, ointment or the like, from a deformable tube, a particular application being for the dispensing of toothpaste. The product tube is screwed to the dispenser via the threaded throat and bears on one of two non-return valves to create an airtight seal. The tube is squeezed to prime the dispenser and fill the cavity. When a plunger assembly is pressed inward against a spring, product is displaced through the non-return valves and a dispensing nozzle. On release of plunger, the spring returns plunger to its original position and by vacuum action displaces an equivalent amount of product from the tube to replenish product in the dispenser cavity. The dispenser preferably has side flanges and projecting pins for the storage of toothbrushes.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1989Date of Patent: September 8, 1992Inventor: James W. Loudon

Patent number: 4991635Abstract: A system for supplying liquid in large bottles from a point where they are filled to a dispenser having a reservoir for receiving the liquid. The bottles each have a neck which carries a cap unit for closing the spout thereof. Each cap unit has an outlet valve that is normally closed. The reservoir has means for supporting another normally closed inlet valve in a neck-receiving socket. When the neck is slipped into the socket the outlet valve of the cap unit is opened and substantially simultaneously the inlet valve for the reservoir is opened thus allowing flow of water from the bottle into the reservoir. When the bottle is removed from the reservoir as the cap unit is withdrawn from the neck-receiving socket, the outlet valve in the bottle neck cap unit is positively closed and the inlet valve of the reservoir automatically closes.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 1989Date of Patent: February 12, 1991Assignee: Liqui-Box CorporationInventor: John G. Patent number: 4972976Abstract: A dispensing unit is adapted to be attached over a dispensing spout or neck of a bottle containing a liquid, such as water, therein. The dispensing unit includes a shroud having an extension adapted to be inserted into a receptacle defined on a standard dispenser stand. A cylindrical passage is defined through the shroud and is sized to receive the spout of the bottle therein. In one embodiment of the invention, a valve member functions to close communications of water from the spout, through the passage and into the receptacle of the dispenser stand when the bottle is inverted and the spout and the extension of the shroud are initially placed within the receptacle. When the bottle is lowered the shroud engages the dispenser to communicate water from the bottle into the receptacle of the dispenser for consumption purposes.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1989Date of Patent: November 27, 1990Inventor: Robert A. Patent number: 4250934Abstract: A liquid filling nozzle for filling liquid into a container under pressure. A piston is housed in a cylinder in a reciprocatingly movable manner, and one end of a hollow shaft is attached to the piston. Liquid flows into the cylinder from a tank through a check valve. Then a container comes into contact with a holding means attached at the bottom end of the shaft. The container raises the shaft to pressurize the liquid in the cylinder, thereby a check valve provided at the bottom portion of the shaft opens to discharge the pressurized liquid into the container.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1979Date of Patent: February 17, 1981Assignee: Shibuya Kogyo Co.
