Abstract: A device for preventing a fueling error reliably prevents a fueling error by accurately preventing an insertion of a small-diameter nozzle without blocking an insertion of a large-diameter nozzle whose entrance should be permitted. Even if an end of a nozzle is strongly pressed to left-and-right shutter members (22), the shutter members (22) never rotate and move in an opening direction unless the shutter members (22) slide and move to an outside of a radial direction. • Patent number: 7147020
Abstract: A container for holding a liquid has a vessel that is open at the top and has an externally threaded neck through which liquid may be poured. A cap that has an internally threaded neck through which liquid may be poured screws onto the vessel. The cap can be inverted and a measured amount of liquid can be poured from the vessel into the cap. The cap can be transparent or translucent and can marked to indicate the amount of liquid it holds. An annular lip on the inside of the cap above its internal threads is sloped on top and flat on the bottom. Any liquid remaining in the cap flows down the sides of the cap, over the annular lip, and drips into the vessel, thereby preventing the liquid from flowing in between the threads and down the sides of the vessel. The top of the vessel may be sealed with a heat seal. When the heat seal has been removed it can be replaced on top of the vessel and the flat bottom of the annular lip will press against it to prevent liquid from leaving the vessel.

Abstract: A method and package for controlled metered dispensing of a fluid product contained in the package having a metered dispensing system, each time the package is opened or uncapped are disclosed. By the present method and package, the maximum amount of product that can be dispensed is limited to a single metered dose after each uncapping of the package. Specifically, the metered dispensing system is configured to allow dispensing of only a single metered dose of a liquid, viscous liquid, gel, paste, or semi-solid product contained in the package and to prevent further dispensing of additional doses of product until at least one specific and deliberate step is taken that re-activates or re-engages the dispensing system. Such deliberate step is preferably one that occurs through natural use of the package, such as re-capping the open package after one single dose has been dispensed. Only after the open package has been re-capped can the next dose of product be available for dispensing.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for preparing a pH balanced saline solution and using the saline solution for rinsing a nasal passage. The apparatus includes a container having flexible sidewalls and an opening for a removable cap. The cap has a rounded convex upper portion curving away from an opening at the cap's uppermost surface and has a conduit in the cap's interior, which conduit extends into the container when the apparatus is fully assembled or is connected to a tube that extends in the container. A saline solution is prepared by adding sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate to distilled water. The sidewalls of the container, filled with the saline solution, are compressed to urge the saline solution through the conduit, or tube and conduit, and through the opening in the cap and into a nasal passage, the cap being pressed against a nostril to provide a comfortable and effective seal.

Abstract: A device for maintaining ingredients separately within a container, of the type having a removable container cap applied on a neck with a central opening, has a sub-container body mounted in the container neck which is formed with a proximate end having screw threads which can be engaged with internal screw threads in the container neck for holding them securely together to allow the ingredients to be shaken out of the sub-container body and mixed with fluid in the container. The sub-container body can have inner divider walls forming multiple compartments with respective orifices for dispensing ingredients selectively from the compartments. The sub-container body may be sealed to the underside of the cap with a sealing film, or seated on the neck rim and held by the cap. In one version, the proximate end of the sub-container body has a protruding shape with inclined walls for guiding it into the neck opening.

The apparatus having a container with flexible side walls and fitted with a removable dispensing cap. The tube acts to draw the saline solution from the base of the container and out throughout the dispensing tip when the side walls of the container are compressed. A cover with an integral measuring device is removably fitted over and seals the cap. A typical procedure involves using the cover to measure salt and transfer it into the container. Water is then added to the level of the markings.
