  • Patent number: 6206054
Abstract: In a method and system for loading a magazine capable of feeding the material into a molding machine, a material to be loaded is placed into a hopper above the magazine. The magazine is slidably seated on a slide plate. The slide plate is moved with a reciprocating motion, causing the magazine to move with a reciprocating motion, and causing the material to fall from the hopper to the magazine. The reciprocating motion of the magazine may be allowed to lag behind the reciprocating motion of the plate, and may, at times, include motion in a direction opposite that of the slide plate. The step of moving the slide plate may include rolling the plate on a plurality of bearings. The motion of the magazine may be limited relative to the slide plate, using at least one stop. A pneumatic cylinder may be included to actuate the at least one stop. The operation of the pneumatic cylinder may be controlled with a solenoid valve.

  • Patent number: 6089283
Abstract: A method of filling containers with bulk material wherein a bag is filled, weighed and densified at the same time. The bag is supported on a releasable hanger. The bag is constantly weighed, and a predetermined quantity of material is placed in the bag. The bag is raised and lowered and vibrated to settle, or densify, the material while the material is being admitted to the bag. The bag may be vibrated while being filled by counter-rotating vibrators. The material is weighed and the net weight is determined. The method of the present invention can be used for filling drums, boxes and other containers, as well as bags. Specific designed power operated hooks are used to support the bag. The containers are supported on a platform. Drums as well as bags can be filled without any change in the machine requiring tools. A three piece spout is used to fill bags and a drum head adapter is supported on the spout to fill drums.

  • Patent number: 5687747
Abstract: Particles of comminuted smokable material are loosened in a downwardly converging compartment defined by a funnel-shaped array of intermittently driven endless flexible belts. The outlet at the lower end of the compartment delivers flows of loosened material into a receptacle wherein the level of the material is monitored and a motor for the belts is started to admit additional material into the receptacle when the level of material descends below a predetermined minimum level. The bottom portion of the reservoir can be expanded and contracted to convert the lowermost part of material in the receptacle into a succession of properly compacted batches each of which can constitute a rod-like filler, and such batches are thereupon evacuated longitudinally of the bottom portion of the receptacle into successive empty tubular envelopes which can be made of cigarette paper or other wrapping material for rod-shaped smokers' products.

Abstract: A process and device provide for the virtually continuous vibration filling with active compound of empty fiber structure electrode plaques having a welded-on current discharge lug for electric accumulators. The empty fiber structure electrode plaques are inserted into a transport device having an adjustable cycle time which passes the plaques through a trough filled with active compound in which the active compound is vibrated. The fiber structure electrode plaques are then removed from the trough, excess active compound is stripped off, sides and the edges of plaque are freed from residues of excess active compound by various brushes. • Patent number: 4579154
Abstract: A sacking connection for filling sacks that are open at the top with dusty products has two spreading flaps that can be pivoted around horizontal axes. Clamping jaws can be pivoted around horizontal axes and hold the edge of the opening of the sack against the spreading flaps. The front of the spreading flaps are connected by dustproof aprons made of a flexible material and fastened in the vicinity of the side edges of the flaps. When folding-sided sacks are filled, a folding device that can be displaced along with its functions of folding from outside the sacking connection into the space inside the sacking connection is associated with each apron. When flat sacks are filled, a spreading device that can be displaced outward from inside along with its functions of spreading is associated with each apron.
