Collector Shiftable To Non-use Position Patents (Class 141/87)
  • Patent number: 4481987
Abstract: Methods are provided for the controlled simultaneous dispensing of several fine powders into microcontainers which containers are used subsequently for clinical determinations. The method includes sifting the fine powders individually to render the individual particles of each powder to be the same size, and then combining them for the subsequent dispensing procedures. The method contemplates, in addition, the reduction of the individual particles of some powders to provide the equal size requirements, before combining with one or more other powders for the subsequent controlled dispensing procedures.

  • Patent number: 4469148
Abstract: A filling apparatus for viscous products, such as those including ingredients in pieces, is proposed. In order to avoid soiling of the sealing rims of the containers, onto which a cover foil is sealed, dripping or squirting from the filler mouthpiece is to be intercepted. The apparatus has a receiving element for this purpose in the form of a scoop, which in a first position assumes a vertical position remote from the filler mouthpiece which intercepts squirting and in a second position assumes a horizontal position passing beneath the filler mouthpiece. The supporting apparatus for the scoop is embodied such that when the scoop is moved from one position into the other position, the scoop undergoes a one-quarter revolution.

  • Patent number: 4439403
Abstract: There is described an apparatus for handling and conditioning biologically injurious waste, especially radioactive waste which consists of a working space or chamber having containers for receiving and dosing the waste, conveying and control devices for the waste and the additions and a filling station for filling the final storage container. It is characterized by the working space having a slanting bottom running into a sump, the containers for receiving and dosing the waste being surrounded by a variable shielding, the cover of the final storage container provided with a stirrer convertable to the stirrer driving mechanism taking place by means of a slidable lift which supports the driving mechanism, a waste supply line, a waste air line, a positioning device and stopping pins, and controlling the sequence of operations by a freely programmable control.

  • Patent number: 4337802
Abstract: An improved liquid filling apparatus for subsurface filling of a container is characterized by an arrangement permitting automatic withdrawal of the filling lance while maintaining a subsurface relationship of the discharge end of the filling lance with the liquid dispensed into the container. The apparatus includes a wheeled carriage which moves along a stanchion, the carriage being operatively associated with the filling lance. A wiper ring assembly, a drip collection assembly, and a fume disposal assembly which contains or entraps substantially all sources of fume generation are also provided as part of the filler apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4174006
Abstract: There is provided a coffee maker comprising a housing in which a filter holder can be placed, with a leak tray positionable therebetween. Such leak tray has a discharge outlet for the passage of filtrate into a collecting vessel designed to be brought into contact therewith. When the collecting vessel is arranged in contact with the leak tray, the discharge outlet is disposed at the lowest point of the leak tray. When the collecting vessel is removed from contact with the leak tray, the bottom portion of the leak tray opposite the discharge outlet is situated below the level of such outlet.

  • Patent number: 4036455
Abstract: For increasing the cargo capacity of an airplane of given weight, the cargo space is formed by a plurality of parallel tubes having their lengths extending spanwise of the wing, so that such cargo-carrying space is generally coextensive with the lift-producing airfoil. Auxiliary lift-producing fans may also be spaced spanwise of the wing, and the ground effect of such fans may be augmented by skirts depending from the wing. Propulsion thrust engines are also spaced spanwise of the wing to distribute thrust loading. The airplane wing is tilted downwardly spanwise so that containerized or particulate solid cargo or liquid cargo can be supplied to the cargo tubes through the lower wing tip, and such cargo can be removed from the cargo tubes by gravity or assisted by air under pressure to fluidize or expel the cargo. The wing may carry a plurality of spaced parallel fuselages.
