Overhanging Cutter Patents (Class 144/135.3)
  • Patent number: 9505093
Abstract: A router guide having a work surface frame that defines upper and lower work surfaces. The guide further includes a tilting mechanism for tilting the router motor to a desired orientation with respect to a work piece, and a circular disc that is rotatably supported to the work surface to facilitate rotation of the circular disc. The router guider further includes multiple adjustments, including, a first adjustment for frictionally rotating the work surface with respect to the router bit; a second adjustment for slidably positioning the work surface along a first and second range of motion; and, a third adjustment for positioning the work surface along a third range of motion.

  • Patent number: 9387541
Abstract: A controlled feed speed drilling machine includes an output shaft for driving a cutting tool in motion. The output shaft is connected to first and second motors by a transmission, which includes a rotationally driving ring and a tapped drive nut. The driving ring is rotatable along the longitudinal axis of the output shaft via the transmission and the first motor. The output shaft is rotationally linked to the driving ring and is mobile in translation relative to the driving ring along the longitudinal axis via the transmission and the second motor. The tapped drive nut rotates along the longitudinal axis relative to the output shaft via the transmission and the first motor. The translation speed VT of the output shaft along its longitudinal axis is equal to the product of the rotation frequency FR of the second motor and a constant k according to VT=k. FR.

  • Publication number: 20130160893
Abstract: The invention relates to an edge sawing machine, comprising a feed table (3), as well as first and second circular saw blades, which are rotatable in the same direction (12) but of which the first circular saw blade (6) is rotatable on a rotation shaft (8) located below the feed table, while the second circular saw blade (9) is rotatable on a rotation shaft (11) located above the feed table. Thereby, one of the circular saw blades affects a piece of wood with a force (17) that acts against a feeding direction (13) of the wood, while the other circular saw blade affects the piece of wood with a force (18) that acts in the feeding direction. A guide (16) is arranged in alignment with and in the area behind the saw blade which affects the piece of wood (5) with a force (17) directed against the feeding direction (13).

  • Patent number: 7124793
Abstract: An apparatus for a portable planer 12 having rails 14 with means for mounting to a single use stand 16, 18. The planer 12 has a pair of rails 14 with bolts 48 depending from the base thereof having threads with nuts 50 positioned on the distal ends whereby a stand 16, 18 having been constructed on site and leveled regardless of ground slope has means for receiving the threaded bolts 48 whereupon fasteners may be placed on the rail post distal ends whereby the rails form an integral part of the single use stand. The motorized planer 12 is mounted to a carriage 40 having wheels 42 for mounting on the rails 14 whereby the planer can be selectively moved from one rail end to the other. Positioned between the single use rail mounts are supports 26 for placing the work piece thereon for processing with the planer having means for receiving various blades 56, 58 and means for varying 62, 64 the height of the blade relative to the work piece.

  • Patent number: 6880595
Abstract: A radial overarm router includes a machine base with a work surface, a vertical column, a bearing housing, a slide assembly, and a carriage subassembly. The bearing housing is mounted to, and may rotate about, the vertical column. The slide assembly mounts to the bearing housing and in combination with the bearing housing, the slide assembly has transnational and rotational motion relative to the column. The slide assembly includes a carriage subassembly that houses a router. The carriage subassembly is configured to allow pivotal and vertical or plunge type motion of the router. The carriage subassembly further provides for transverse movement of the router. Locking knobs and adjustable limit stops are provided for all directions of movement.

  • Patent number: 6450741
Abstract: A fixture for use with a rotary cutting tool for deburring, chamferring or beveling a work piece utilized with a drill comprises a member having opposite sides with a recess defined a first of the sides by two surfaces at right angles to each other to define guide surfaces for a work piece. The opposite side resides in a plane essentially perpendicular to a plane bisecting the angle between the surfaces. A semi-cylindrical recess is defined in the member in the opposite side intermediate the ends thereof about an axis which is essentially perpendicular to a plane bisecting the angle between the surfaces. The passage extends through a portion of the surfaces and defines an opening in the surfaces whereby a rectangular cross section work piece contacting the guide surfaces will extend through the opening into the passage.
