Abstract: An adjustable scale typically used with a router table may be reset at any time to facilitate determining the change in height of the router regardless of where the scale is positioned when the router is at a given height. When used with a router table having a table plate with a height adjustment screw for adjusting the height of the router, the scale includes a marker carried by the table plate or the adjustment screw. When carried by the adjustment screw, the marker is rotatable relative to the adjustment screw to align markings thereon with a reference mark on the table plate to reset the scale. Thus, a zero marking may be aligned with the reference mark at any height of the router, and the adjustment screw and marker may then be rotated together to adjust the height of the router and simultaneously measure the height change.

Left and right guide plates extend inclinedly and downwardly from the peripheral wall toward the outlet port, and have opposing end walls distal from the peripheral wall. A distributor member is disposed between the end walls, and cooperates with the bottom plate to define a lower chamber in fluid communication with the outlet port, and further cooperates with the guide plates and the peripheral wall to define an upper chamber. A working panel is mounted on the peripheral wall, and is formed with apertures for access to the upper chamber.

Abstract: An improved portable work bench includes a structural body, and a platform disposed on and frictionally contacting the structural body. In addition, the platform includes an override mechanism for allowing horizontal movement of the platform along the structural body. Further, the portable work bench may include a plurality of legs for supporting the structural body. The structural body may be tubular and preferably has a trapezoidal cross-section. Such work bench can be used by disposing the platform on the structural body, so that the platform frictionally contacts the structural body. Then the user can mechanically override the static friction between the platform and the structural body and move the platform horizontally along the structural body.

  • Patent number: 6729371
Abstract: A household workbench assembly (1) that utilizes dry dimensional lumber, plywood, metal, and plastic to provide a versatile, rugged workbench, requiring minimal assembly time and having a pleasing cosmetic outer appearance. The versatility and simplicity of the workbench design comes from the unique primary metal leg design (2) that allows rapid attachment of all components (3-8). The leg (2) is constructed as a load bearing metal structural frame with a front to back length equal to the product of the average width of a specific type of dry dimensional lumber (7) times an integer number of pieces. Holes (12) located along the top surface of the metal leg and spaced appropriately provide for attachment of dry dimensional lumber and prevent the lumber from warping or splitting. Brace attachment holes (13) pre-drilled symmetrically about the vertical axis of the leg (2) and along the sides of each vertical member provide for attachment of all lateral and drawer support braces (3,4,5).
