Plural Rotary Cutter Patents (Class 15/104.13)
  • Patent number: 10385627
Abstract: A downhole tool comprises a plurality of blades that extend outward from a tool body. Each blade has an under-gauge surface with a blade diameter that is less than a gauge diameter of a drill bit to be used with the downhole tool. A waterway is defined between a pair of adjacent blades and has a waterway base that is recessed from the blade diameter. One or more waterway inserts are disposed within the waterway and extend from the waterway base. Each of the one or more waterway inserts does not extend to the blade diameter. No component of the downhole tool is positioned outside the blade diameter.

  • Publication number: 20120042461
Abstract: A pipe cleaning apparatus for cleaning pipes or tubes includes a plurality of scrapers and a plurality of spacers secured to a shaft. Each scraper includes a scraper body with an outer perimeter defining a scraper blade adapted to contact an inner surface of a tube and at least one radial slot defined by the body. Each of the scrapers and spacers are inserted onto a cylindrical shaft. Each spacer is sandwiched between two adjacent scrapers. The scrapers are adapted to contact an inner surface of a tube or a pipe.

  • Publication number: 20110030663
Abstract: A method for preparing a surface, previously roughed in a mechanical manner and comprising sharp-edged ridges and recesses, on metal workpieces for applying a thermally sprayed layer. The roughened layer is machined by hammer or percussion brushes with a rapidly rotating hammer or percussion brush having a plurality of resilient percussion wires that are oriented in a radially outward manner, such that the edges of the ridges are broken in order to improve the adhesion of the subsequently applied thermally sprayed layer or are at least curved forming rear sections. The brush rotates at a high rotational speed of approximately 3000-6000 rotations per minute and is displaced laterally with its rotational axis being at a parallel distance that remains constant in relation to the surface of the workpiece such that percussion wires distributed on the periphery of the brush impact with the ends thereof of the surface areas adjacent to the workpiece at an oblique angle that is less than 90° in rapid succession.

  • Publication number: 20080127438
Abstract: A tool for cleaning a drainage structure comprises a rod having a center longitudinal axis, a barrel housing having a proximal opening and a distal opening, the barrel housing having a center longitudinal axis and coupled coaxially to the rod, the barrel housing having an outside dimension that can be accommodated within the drainage structure, the distal opening of the barrel housing having a sinusoidal tearing contour. The tool further comprises a plurality of cutting implements radially coupled to and between the rod and the barrel housing, the cutting implements having a distal cutting edge and being angularly oriented to facilitate sweeping debris in a selected direction, and the barrel housing and cutting implements operable to rotate about the center longitudinal axis of the rod to dislodge and loosen debris inside the drainage structure.

  • Publication number: 20020056166
Abstract: An apparatus for removing deposits from the internal surface of a substantially cylindrical tube comprises a cap adapted to cover a first end of the tube and defining a hole. A shaft is slidably and rotatably mounted in the hole and a plurality of cutters extend outward from an inside end of the shaft, spaced about the exterior of the shaft, each cutter movable from a retracted position outward from the shaft to an extended position. A bias force supplied by a pressurized fluid source acts on each cutter toward the extended position. A drive is operative to rotate the shaft as the shaft slides along the hole. A channel can be provided to supply pressurized fluid to an interior of a tube to blow debris out.

  • Patent number: 6174381
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cleaning the internal surface of pipes mainly from solid sediments, according to which a cleaning element is inserted into the pipe cavity and rotated at a high speed while fluid is simultaneously supplied to the pipe cavity. The cleaning element comprises a plurality of roller heads with annular grooves coupled to a housing and the roller heads are shifted relative to each other in the axial direction. During cleaning, the roller heads and the housing rotate around their respective longitudinal axes in a manner such that the rotation of the roller heads is opposite in direction relative to the rotation of the housing. While rotating, the cleaning element creates spiral grooves in the sediment and cuts off the sediment along the spiral path.
