In the raised position the mop-carrying surfaces are inclined downwardly and outwardly. The mop assumes a tapered shape when held in the raised position, so that it can easily be introduced into a relatively small squeezing device for being wrung out. Instead of being disposed on swingable arms, the mop-supporting surfaces could be disposed in a one-piece holder and permanently arranged in a downwardly and outwardly inclined state.

  • Patent number: 5901402
Abstract: A mop handle connector which is removably attached to the end of a mop handle and is typically fitted with a clamp to facilitate removable attachment of a dust mop frame to the mop handle. In a preferred embodiment the mop handle connector is characterized by a connector plate, one end of which is threaded into the end of the mop handle and a conventional clamping mechanism is pivotally attached to the opposite end of the connector plate. A lock ring may be slidably disposed on the connector plate and can be selectively brought into engagement with the clamping mechanism to maintain the attached dust mop frame in a rigid position with respect to the mop handle, or disengaged from the clamping mechanism to allow the attached dust mop frame to pivot with respect to the mop handle.

  • Patent number: 5724696
Abstract: This invention reveals an improvement to a mop head retainer for use with a mop handle and mop head. The improvement involves adding a pressure bar to a protective bar. The pressure bar can be easily moved so that downward pressure can be applied to a release member. The downward pressure on the release member facilitates disengagement of a bar holding a mop head in place on the mop head retainer.

  • Patent number: 5701628
Abstract: A mop holder which incorporates a quick release locking nut for clamping a mop and attaching a mop stick. The mop holder comprises a hollow frame and a quick release locking nut which is installed on the frame. The frame has a central portion with a closed cavity for accommodating a conventional mop stick. A swingable mop clamping member is hingeably connected to one end of the base of the frame. The mop clamping member serves to clamp the mop fill to the base of the frame. A slidable attachment rod with outer screw threads is hingeably connected to the other end of the mop clamping member. The slidable attachment rod is inserted through an opening provided on the frame, where the rod is threadably engaged with a pawl on the quick release locking nut. The quick release locking nut can be rotated to tighten the mop clamping member to the frame, and thereby secures the mop fill thereto.
