Abstract: The present disclosure provides a new design for a toothbrush having a detachable bristle head portion that interlocks with a bristle frame mounting portion to form a watertight seal. The detachable bristle head has a novel bristle formation, with the bristle holes being formed into parallel horizontal lines, and the bristles taking on a rounded shape. The toothbrush is further provided with a novel calendar reminder mechanism in the form of a rotatable cap coupled to the distal end of the brush handle, allowing a user to set a month reminder for the next time the detachable bristle head should be replaced.

Abstract: A brush for removing cremated remains from a crematory oven is entirely formed of metal to resist the high temperatures of the oven and has two linear brush assemblies fixed to a top frame. A steel handle extends rearwardly from the frame for grasping by a brush operator. One of the linear brush assemblies has smaller diameter crimped stainless steel bristles and is positioned at the front of the brush, the other of the linear brush assemblies has larger diameter crimped stainless steel bristles and is fixed to the top frame rearward of the front brush assembly. Side brush assemblies extend sidewardly and upwardly of the other two. In operation the brush is inserted at the front of the oven and drawn rearwardly after the cremation such that the rear bristles encounter and withdraw the larger elements of the remains, and the front bristles encounter and withdraw the smaller elements.

The linear member aggregate (7) includes a large number of bundles (51) of the linear members (50) obtained by hardening aggregated yarn of inorganic filaments impregnated with a resin, and a brush holder (70) holding ends of the bundles (51). A linear member holder (70) in the linear member aggregate (7) is detachably attached to each of a plurality of holding holes (68) that is open in one side in an axial line direction L. In a case where any of the linear member aggregates has a failure, such as breakage, only the failed linear member aggregate needs to be replaced. Thus, it is not necessary to discard the entire brush-like grinding stone. Consequently, the polishing cost can be reduced.

The brush includes a handle portion that is substantially hollow having a first end and a second end. A bristle portion is provided that includes an annular base having a shank extending outward therefrom opposite the bristles. Disposed within the handle is a connection assembly that facilitates the releasable securing of the bristle portion to the handle.

Abstract: A multi-head toothbrush assembly includes a housing that is elongated and has a first end, a second end and a perimeter wall. The first end comprises an exit door. Each of a plurality of spaced sets of bristles is attached to and extends upwardly from a top side of an elongated panel. A plurality of panel sections is defined between adjacent ones of the sets. Each of the panel sections and an adjacent set defines a head. A frangible area in the panel is formed at junctures of each of the heads to facilitate breaking the heads off from one another. The panel is slidable outwardly through the first end to expose the heads and allow the heads to be used for brushing teeth. The heads are broken off of the panel to allow a next one of the heads to be used.

The folded twisted cleaning means with flexibility then is pulled back so as to bind the twisted cleaning means with flexibility in the frame body.

A cross section of the tuft of filaments may have any shape, such as round, rectangular, or oval. The fused filament tufts fabricated from metallic filaments may be formed by fusing at least one end with a welding process and then cutting the plurality of filaments. Filaments fabricated from synthetic materials may be fused into tufts with sonic welding and then cut to length. A nonfused end of each tuft may be flared by squeezing the perimeter of the tuft at substantially the fused end thereof. A plurality of tufts may be captured to form a brush with a base structure. A fused brush strip is an unified lengthwise progression of metallic filaments which may exceed twenty inches. The fused brush strip does not require a base structure to retain a plurality of filaments. The filaments are joined on one end thereof. The fused brush strip is preferably formed with a welding process.

The first portion includes a generally rectangular shaped body with grip means for facilitating holding the toothbrush during use. The second portion includes an elongate body having a securing means for retaining the brushing head in a fixed position relative to the elongate handle. An axis extends between the first and second portions of the elongate handle such that the brushing head is angularly tilted relative to the axis.

Abstract: This invention pertains to a novel internal ferrule which is used in a paint brush that has a removable bristle pack and one or more moveable bristle clamping panels which, when in a closed position, grip the bristle pack and prevent paint from migrating up the bristles to the base of the paint brush handle. The paint brush with the internal ferrule and the removable bristle pack is easy to use, and provides ready cleaning after use, by releasing the one or more panels and enabling the bristle pack to be removed and exposed to the cleaning solution. An internal ferrule for use with a paint brush handle and a removable bristle pack comprising: (a) a hollow girdle for encircling a first end of a bundle of parallel bristles, the girdle having interior and exterior faces; (b) a concave glue cavity formed in an interior face of the hollow girdle; and (c) a protrusion formed on an exterior face of the girdle for engaging with a corresponding cavity formed in the body of a paint brush handle.

Abstract: Brush bristle assemblies are formed into strips with strips of length of thermoplastic monofilaments which are mutually fused at their bottoms and formed into coupling bars with snaps fastening heads. The bars are slidably coupled to linear or helical channels or slots formed in rotary driven brush drum bristle substrates. In one form, the individual monofilament lengths are bent to form dart shaped loops. The bent thermoplastic lengths are longitudinally stacked with the apices of the contiguous loops being mutually fused to form a bristle strip. A hand brush is formed of a bunch of polypropylene filaments, the bottom section of which being mutually fused and shaped to form a bristle base and handle.

Abstract: The invention relates to a monofilament fiber made of plastic containing from 0.2 to 15% by weight of at least one agent improving the slip characteristic of the fiber and reducing its wettability by water and/or by solvents. The invention also relates to an applicator for liquid product, the applicator being a plurality of hairs joined mechanically to the same single member in which at least a proportion of the hairs consists of lengths of a fiber such as defined above. These applicators are particularly advantageous for the application of cosmetic products.

The bristle cavities are connected with passage ways. The bristle groups are mounted in the bristle cavities with a rubber base, creating a seal with its associated bristle cavity, creating a closed system where the bristle cavities are in fluid communication with each other through the passage ways. The closed system is filled with a substantially non-compressible medium. When pressure is exerted on one bristle group, pressure is thereby exerted on the medium, which exerts pressure on the other bristle groups, in turn applying even pressure to all bristle groups. A plaque remover, having a fiberglass pick, is mounted in the grip portion of the handle.

Abstract: A modular brush for applying hair treatment solution in a quasi-random pattern includes a brush body and a plurality of removable rotating bristle modules. The bristle modules have tightly packed bristles that retain different volumes of hair treatment solution, such as dye, after the bristles have been dipped into a supply of the solution. The modules may be arranged to achieve the user-selected pattern of treatment. Movement of the brush causes the bristle modules to rotate, providing a fresh supply of solution to the sections of hair which are contacted by bristles and leaving the sections in their natural color where the sections are between bristle modules or between arrays of bristles on the same module. A locking member can be employed to selectively prevent rotation of the bristle modules. A detent-and-notch arrangement may be used to ensure synchronous rotation of the bristle modules.

Abstract: A rotary air-driven brush device for cleaning air ducts comprises a reversible rotary air motor connected to a source of air under pressure and having a threaded output shaft. A brush head includes an inner mounting member secured to the output shaft and an outer housing spaced from the inner mounting member. A plurality of brush members are removably mounted in axially spaced apart openings extending through the brush head mounting member. The brush members include tubular bristle holder elements which are secured in the openings in the brush head by set screws. A plurality of support legs having rollers thereon support and guide the brush head within the duct during the duct cleaning operation.

Abstract: An apparatus for collecting litter from the ground includes a frame adapted for movement along the ground, a hopper mounted at one end of the frame; and a collector assembly supported on the frame. The collector assembly includes a pair of rollers having a plurality of flexible fingers disposed radially on the periphery thereof, the rollers being substantially parallel to each other and disposed in a plane that is substantially parallel to the ground. The rollers are arranged so that the fingers on one of the pair of rollers intermesh with the fingers of the other of the pair of rollers so as to be able to lift litter between them. The apparatus further includes a device for conveying litter lifted by the pair of rollers to the hopper.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a device that is adapted to the working end of a rotating string grass trimming tool. The standard string and spool end effector of the grass trimming tool is removed and the present invention is substituted in its place. The present invention is comprised of a drum which is rotated at a high rate of speed by the prime mover of the grass trimming tool. The drum has a plurality of flexible bristles extending from its circumferential surface. The centrifugal force of the rotating drum extends the flexible bristles away from the surface of the drum. The extended bristles are then brought into contact with a desired surface, removing any paint, rust or other unwanted material from the surface with a minimal or surface damage to that surface. The rate at which the present invention is rotated is controlled by the motor governing device of the grass trimming tool.

Abstract: In a liquid applicator provided with a fixing member for retaining a liquid-application member having a fixing flange at its rear end, the liquid-application member and the fixing member are assembled to form an assembly which is mounted inside a front shaft of the liquid applicator through a snap-in packing. Since the fixing member is provided with a resilient clipping-plate portion for compensating any variation of the thickness of the fixing flange of the liquid-application member, assembling of the assembly and the front shaft can be easily conducted in the liquid applicator.

The brush and pump are axially reciprocable in a housing. The brush has bundles of bristles, each bundle having a head portion fitted into notches at the periphery of a main ring and held therein by a pinch ring, the main and pinch rings together constituting a brush base which is detachably secured to a rotatable base associated with the pump, by means of a pair of fixed members which are engagable upon relative rotation of the rotatable base and brush base.

Abstract: A hair brush of antistatic plastic material comprises an apertured base plate in the form of a grid having bristles integrally moulded therewith. The base plate is convexly curved in the finished brush with the bristles on the convex side and the grid construction imparts to the brush sufficient resilience to allow the relatively stiff integrally moulded bristles to execute a comfortable brushing action.
