Sponge Or Sponge With Holder Patents (Class 15/244.1)
  • Patent number: 6576323
Abstract: Articles designed to clean/refresh soiled fabrics are improved by means of texturing at least one surface and/or by applying tackiness agents. In use, the articles rub against the fabrics, whereupon lint removed from the fabrics is trapped and retained by the tackiness agent. Refolding of the articles during use is substantially minimized by imparting texture to one or more of the article's surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6574825
Abstract: The invention concerns a cleaning device for casing components of electronic devices such as laptop computers, keyboards, monitors and such which are susceptible to dust. The device has a cuboidal block (10) made of a flexible material which on its underside, which is the surface of the block intended to contact the surface being cleaned, has a large number of incisions (14) which run crossways and form flexible fins (16) which can be deflected outward toward both sides. When the device is in use the fins spread and create slits (22) to collect dust. The incisions preferentially stretch over two thirds of the height of the block and run virtually parallel to its sides, so that the fins have a rectangular cross-section. The block is preferentially made of a soft foam.

  • Patent number: 6568024
Abstract: The invention is a cleaning tool housing assembly and a replaceable cleaning assembly. The manifold, in combination with a fluid intake element, also delivers fluid (under pressure through holes in the manifold located in a longitudinal channel) to a sponge. Two spaced apart fluid barriers are longitudinally disposed in the sponge. As fluid is introduced into the center of the sponge, between the fluid barriers, the fluid travels toward the opposite surface of the sponge. The fluid is prevented from traveling laterally due to the fluid barriers. As vacuum pressure, negative pressure, is exerted on the outer portions of the sponge (on each side of the fluid barriers), fluid is pulled back through the sponge, through the manifold and through the nozzles into the hollow housing body.

The swab includes a wrapped foam cleaning end. The wrapped foam cleaning end is formed from an elongated strip of microporous foam that is spiral wound about the cleaning end of the handle and is formed having a substantially flat cleaning end. A method for making the swab is also disclosed.

Abstract: A latch to secure a detachable sponge to a sponge mop head comprises a pair of opposed tabs separated by a void. The upper and lower portions of each pair are spaced to fit closely within corresponding apertures in the mop head, while the central portion ramps outward such that the dimension between the opposed tab ramps is larger than the aperture opening. Each tab is centrally locate on a beam, the beam extending a short distance beyond either end of the tab until it interconnects with a sponge backing plate. This short section of beam beyond each end of each tab twists or rotates torsionally when the tabs are squeezed together to secure or detach the sponge to the mop head. A latch is located near each end of the sponge.

  • Patent number: 6418587

Abstract: A liquid soap dispensing container #1 that holds and dispenses liquid soap from a soap receptacle area #10. A sponge caddy area in the rear of the container #1 is comprised of a container sponge caddy partition #4, the left side of container #2, the right side of container #3 and the container floor #6. Removable #13 lid covers the soap receptable area. Lid #3 also covers, from above, the recessed sponge caddy area. When a sponge #9 or other cleaning pad is placed in the sponge caddy area, it is hidden from view from the front, from above, and from the left and right sides. The recessed sponge caddy area receives, organizes, holds and stores a kitchen sponge #9 or other cleaning pad, hidden from view as described above, and is accessible from the rear of container #1 thus a sponge #9 can easily be placed for storage and retrieved for use.

Abstract: An electro-static dissipating swab has an elongated handle defining a longitudinal axis and defining a cleaning head end and a grasping end. The cleaning head end defines a securing region. The handle is formed from an electro-static dissipative material. A cleaning tip is formed from an electro-static dissipative material and is secured to the handle cleaning head end. The handle and cleaning tip define a longitudinal axis. The swab, in a dry state, dissipates a static electrical charge from a charge plate having a 20 picofarad capacitance at a charge of 1000 volts to a charge of less than 10 volts in less than about 500 milliseconds, and in a wetted state dissipates a static electrical charge from a charge plate having a 20 picofarad capacitance at a charge of 1000 volts to a charge of less than 10 volts in less than about 100 milliseconds.

Abstract: A cleaning device for use in a substrate cleaning apparatus is disclosed. The cleaning device includes a cleaning member brought into contact with a surface of a substrate to be cleaned, and a cleaning member holding mechanism for holding the cleaning member. The cleaning member holding mechanism includes a holding member (sleeve) having a lower portion split into a plurality of chuck jaws, and a ring member fitted onto the outer periphery of the holding member. An end portion of the cleaning member is inserted into an insertion hole formed by the chuck jaws, and the ring member is fitted onto the outer periphery of the holding member, thereby holding the cleaning member with the chuck jaws. That is, the cleaning member holding mechanism has a collet chuck structure.

While in contact with the optical surfaces, the contaminants on the lens surfaces are enzymatically removed. Upon separation of the lenses and the deformable material, substantially all of the enzymes are retained on the deformable material, largely eliminating the need to perform additional operations to inactivate the enzymes or otherwise rid the lenses of residual enzymatic matter.
