  • Patent number: 4574415
Abstract: A convertible dusting and cleaning brush for venetian blinds and the like having a brush frame with a handle thereupon, said frame mounting a plurality of juxtaposed, finger-like, bristle dusting brushes extending longitudinally therefrom. Demountably associated with each of said brushes is a cleaning adapter whose outer diameter is substanially equal to the outer diameter of the dusting brushes and which incorporates an elongated bore adapted to receive the filaments of the elongated brush when the cleaning adapter is installed thereupon. As the installation takes place, the filaments of the brush compressed to impart a frictional grip by the filaments upon the wall of the bore of the cleaning adapter, thus preventing the inadvertent dislocation of the cleaning adapter from operative relationship with the associated brush. Positive detent means is also provided on the frame to hold the adapter on the brush.

  • Patent number: 4503578
Abstract: A brush assembly for cleaning the bore of a cannon. The assembly includes a cylindrically-shaped brush (46) supported on front and rear plates (22, 24). An assembly shaft (30) extends through the plate, the center of the brush and through the rear plate. A threaded collar (36) is connected to the rear of the assembly shaft for receiving a ramming shaft (42). A conically-shaped centering element (58) is disposed over the threaded collar and is provided with an opening for accommodating the ramming shaft. The centering element realigns the brush with the bore thereby permitting the brush assembly to be pulled back through the barrel (72) without the necessity of manually recentering the assembly with the bore.

  • Patent number: 4400842
Abstract: A preferably molded plastic brush frame extends transversely having an integral longitudinally extending, curvilinear handle and mounts a multiplicity of side by side, finger-like, preferably bristle brushes extending longitudinally therefrom. A preferably molded plastic cover closed at the bottom and side walls, and open at the top is dimensioned for receiving the brushes and a portion of the transverse frame downwardly therein to telescopically enclose the brushes. The cover extends longitudinally downwardly a greater distance than the brushes so as to form a dust chamber therein beneath the brushes. Preferably snap-fasteners are mounted transversely centrally between the frame portion and the cover at opposite sides thereof selectively engageable for retaining the frame portion and brushes in the cover and permitting shaking of the assembly to deposit dust from the brushes into the cover and dust chamber.
