Abstract: A wiper cover is mounted in an opening in a vehicle housing and receives a wiper arm which pivots within the opening. The cover has a hollow body mounted in the opening, a rear flap which projects upwardly and forwardly from a rear side of the body, and a front flap which projects upwardly and rearwardly from a front side of the body. The front flap extends above and overlaps a portion of the rear flap. The flaps substantially cover the opening and slidably engage the wiper arm as it pivots within the opening. The body has upper and lower flanges which form a groove therebetween which receives an edge of the housing. The flaps include a notch and a recess which receives the wiper arm when the wiper arm is in a park position.

Abstract: A method for controlling a wiper motor of a wiper device for a motor vehicle windshield. A control unit implements the inventive method and a wiper device for a motor vehicle windshield. The control unit controls an electric motor which powers a wiper blade on a windshield sweeping between two end-of-travel zones. In each end-of-travel zone, there is a software end-of-travel stop which is moved by a predetermined value after each passage on the software stop, the latter always remaining in its test zone, thereby providing self-adaptation of the sweeping limits in time. The invention also enables the detection of the presence of obstacles on the wiper blade path.

A wiper lip is arranged on the wiper rubber and lies against the window to be wiped. Load alleviation elements which alleviate the wiper lip when the windscreen wiping device is in the parking position lift the wiper lip off the window to be wiped. The load alleviation elements include at least two interspaced pins arranged on the carrier element and ramps which co-operate with the pins and which are provided on the window or in the region around the window. In the parking position, the pins drive against the ramps in order to alleviate the wiper lip.

Abstract: A wiper drive apparatus includes a drive gear rotated by a motor, a lead frame carried on a cover attachable to the motor or motor gear and including a circumferentially of discrete conductive traces, and a park switch bridge rotatably mounted on the cover and carrying a circumferentially of spaced contacts, each slidable over conductive traces to open and close a circuit to the drive motor as the park switch bridge is engaged by and rotated by the drive gear. Each contact is carried on a beam projecting from a circumferentially of radially extending arms forming the park switch bridge. A drive pin carried on the drive gear engages successive arms to rotate the park switch bridge 90° for each revolution of the drive gear to bring a different contact into electrical connection with the conductive traces without requiring additional tooling for the lead frame or the park switch bridge itself.
