  • Patent number: 9421947
Abstract: A windshield wiper has a wiper arm with a window clearing blade and an ice scraper component located above the blade. The outer edges of the blade and scraper component are curved, so as to be configured to the shape of the windshield of the vehicle. Wing nut and screw attachment means allows the scraper component to be slideable between a position in which the scraper component is slid forward of the blade and contacts the windshield to perform its ice clearing function and a second position in which it is retracted away from the windshield of a vehicle to allow the blade to perform its water clearing function.

  • Patent number: 8783991
Abstract: Described herein are techniques related to a magnetic tool for cleaning one or more surfaces of a plate of magnetically permeable material, such as a window. With an implementation described herein, the tool includes a pair of magnetically attracted utensils designed to be magnetically coupled together through a window. While a user slides the utensil along an interior surface of the window, the second utensil follows the first utensil and slides along the exterior surface of the window. The second utensil is tethered to a fluid pump via a fluid-conductive hose. In this way, cleaning fluid may be delivered to the second utensil while it is on the exterior surface of the window and cleaning that surface. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Patent number: 8057606
Abstract: A glass cleaning device employs an inner component having a body with an associated first cleaning element and a second movable portion positionable from a first to second position, the second portion associated with a second cleaning element. A support magnet is carried within the body and at least one magnetic element is carried in the second movable portion. An outer component provides a handle for manipulation by a user with a first magnetic element carried within the handle for operable engagement of the support magnetic in the inner component to draw the body into contact with an inner surface of an aquarium wall to be cleaned. A selection magnet carried within the handle allows engagement with at least one magnetic element in the movable portion. Positioning of the selection magnet adjacent the magnetic element actuates the movable portion for operable engagement of the second cleaning element on the inner surface of the aquarium wall.

  • Patent number: 7941890
Abstract: A window cleaning system includes a control panel that has independently operable switches electrically coupled thereto. A reservoir for housing window washing fluid is nested within an engine compartment. Power operated pumps are mated to the control panel and are in fluid communication with the reservoir. Fluid dispensing assemblies are conjoined to the pumps and are independently activated for soaking a unique vehicle door window. Fluid wiping implements are situated above the fluid dispensing assemblies and cooperate with the fluid dispensing assemblies for automatically removing excess fluid from the door windows. Collection bins include funnels attached to a top surface thereof that receive and store runoff fluids from the door windows. The collection bins include plugs connected thereto for draining runoff water outwardly and away from the vehicle doors. Filters are seated subjacent to the funnels for preventing debris from being deposited into the collection bins.

  • Patent number: 6446301
Abstract: A laterally movable wiper arm assembly cleans curved interior surfaces of automobile and truck windshields. The wiper blade is movable on two curved tracks; one at the top of the windshield and one at the bottom of the windshield, with a vertically oriented telescoping wiper blade movable laterally therebetween. The telescoping arm support permits the vertical blade to tilt into the corners at the bottom of the windshield, to cover a larger proportion of the area, since the bottom of a windshield is longer than the top. The blade or wiping pad is supported with a resilient foam layer attached to a flexible substrate, which is adjustably attached to a rigid support arm following the windshield contour.
