Including Advancing Means For Erasive Body Patents (Class 15/429)
  • Patent number: 8776313
Abstract: A stationery tool has a body and a rubber holding device. The body has a holding end and a holding recess defined in the holding end. The rubber holding device is detachably or securely mounted in the holding recess for holding a rubber to adjust an extension length of the rubber relative to the body and has a clamping segment and a guiding segment. The clamping segment has multiple clamping protrusions for pressing against the rubber. The guiding segment extends outwardly and makes an opening of the rubber holding device have a distance from the clamping segment. Accordingly, the stationery tool has capabilities of adjusting an extension length of the rubber and conveniently replacing a used rubber.

Abstract: An eraser advancing mechanism for a mechanical pencil has a pair of nested screws within a barrel. A second screw, with outwardly directed threads, extends through a conduit in a first screw that includes outwardly directed threads and a thread in the conduit meshing with the threads of the second screw. An eraser ferrule includes a thread that meshes with the outwardly directed threads of the first screw. The ferrule includes a knob serving to drive rotation of the eraser ferrule, and hence the first screw. The first screw includes a head with a profile that complements the inner profile of the barrel. Rotation of the first screw causes rotation of the barrel and serves to create a counter-rotation of the second screw, leading to axial movement of the second screw relative to the first screw.

  • Patent number: 6547465
Abstract: A pencil has a fixed non-replaceable eraser and a moveable sleeve. The fixed non-replaceable eraser is elongated to provide a larger eraser to pencil ratio in order to have more erase cycles per write cycles. The moveable sleeve can be moved to selectively expose a portion of the eraser. A ferrule couples the pencil body and the eraser together and provides an outer surface to engage an inner surface of the moveable sleeve. In one embodiment, a threaded female slot in the outer surface of the ferrule engages a male threaded tab in the inner surface of the sleeve. In another embodiment, a plurality of concentric slots in the outer surface of the ferrule engage a tab in the inner surface of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5370471
Abstract: This invention is to a writing tool such as mechanical pencil or a ballpoint pen in which a writing shaft having a head member is inserted in an outer sleeve in such a manner that the head member projects from the outer sleeve. A stair or step and a spiral groove are provided on the forward inner surface and the rearward inner surface of a tubular cap, respectively, with an inside diameter of the rear part of the spiral groove being larger. A bearing part is brought into contact with a lead tank provided inside a forward art of the tubular part so that the forward part of the outer sleeve is movable in the axial direction and is locked in the turning direction against a rearward inner surface of the outer sleeve. The rearward part of the tubular body is provided with a slit, holding pieces of a stick-shaped object holder slidably inserted in said slit. A stick-shaped object is held by the holding pieces, and the projection is provided on each holder engaged with the spiral groove of the tubular cap.

  • Patent number: 5306085
Abstract: A multiplex writing implement comprises a plurality of writing elements, at least one which is a mechanical pencil writing element, which can be selectively projected and retracted from the front opening of the front barrel section by rotating a middle barrel section relative to the front barrel section. An eraser can be extended by rotation of a cap relative to the middle barrel section. The implement includes the following resin molded components, namely, a guide cylinder, front barrel section, cylindrical cam, middle barrel section, cap, and an eraser guide sleeve. The front half portion of the guide cylinder is fixed to the front barrel section and is attached rotatably in its rear half portion to the middle barrel section. The guide cylinder contains a plurality of writing elements fit in respective grooves and movable axially. The cylindrical cam is attached rotatably into the rear end of the guide cylinder, and is disposed in the middle barrel section, locked from relative turning.

  • Patent number: 5015111
Abstract: A pencil has front and rear barrels mounted on an inner barrel. The rear and inner barrels are axially displaceable as a unit relative to the front barrel to advance a lead, and the rear barrel is angularly displaceable in opposite directions relative to the front and inner barrels to axially extend and retract an eraser. The eraser is carried by an eraser holder having projections which ride in helical grooves formed in the rear barrel, and the eraser holder is prevented from undergoing rotation. Angular displacement of the rear barrel effects axial displacement of the eraser holder so as to extend and retract the eraser depending on the direction of angular displacement of the rear barrel.

  • Patent number: 4352580
Abstract: A knock-out type mechanical pencil has a supporting rod mounted with an eraser at its rear end and axially slidably engaged within the interior of a cylindrical knock-button. A tubularly cylindrical weight is axially slidably engaged around the supporting rod. A cylindrical magnet is axially magnetized and secured to the inner peripheral surface of the knock-button. An annularly inwardly raised guide portion is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the knock-button for guiding the weight to the axial line of the knock-button when the weight is axially slidably dropped downwardly toward the writing tip of the pencil. To protrude and fix an eraser from the rear end of the tubular cylindrical body, the rear end of the pencil is tilted downward. To automatically contain or retract the eraser in the knock-button, the writing tip of the pencil is directed downwardly in writing state.
