  • Patent number: 8298342
Abstract: A dedusting device and method is disclosed for the dry or moist dedusting (i.e., cleaning, dusting, or removal of dirt, dust, or other debris) from components, e.g., of motor vehicles. An exemplary method may generally include positioning a dusting tool driven by a drive motor in a predetermined dusting position such that the tool contacts or touches the component, and determining a first operating variable of the drive motor of the dusting tool when positioning the dusting tool in the predetermined dusting position. The first operating variable may reflect a mechanical load of the drive motor due to the contact with the component to be dusted. The method may further include calculating a corrected dusting position as a function of the predetermined dusting position and the first operating variable of the drive motor, and positioning the dusting tool in the corrected dusting position.

  • Patent number: 5652992
Abstract: A device for removing sand, solid particulate wastes and the like from a surface being cleaned, comprising spade-shaped members driven in a closed rotatory circuit cooperating with a brush in synchronized sweeping motion. In a first embodiment, a rotatory belt mounting a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart spade-shaped collector elements cooperates to receive material swept by a single brush in pendulum arcuate motion and then elevates the waste for deposit into a storage container for later disposal. In a second embodiment, the sweeping action is provided by the reciprocating motion of a first rotational belt mounting a plurality of transverse, circumferentlally spaced-apart rows of brushes and the receiving and elevating is done by a second belt mounting an array of circumferentially spaced-apart spade-shaped collector elements.

  • Patent number: 5309597
Abstract: A hand held device for sweeping cloth and other surfaces and to convey the sweepings to a self-contained dust pan. An endless flat belt rotating on two pulleys of unequal diameter supports a plurality of transverse brushes which do the sweeping and conveying. Rotation is derived from a motor contained within the larger pulley. The motor is driven by direct current batteries when the operator presses a switch in the handle. The smaller pulley resides near an opening in the housing. The brushes, one after another sweep through the opening picking up any residues on the surface being brushed and conveys them onto a flat surface which is parallel to the conveying leg of the belt. This plate cooperates with the brushes to convey the particles of residue to the center of the dust pan. Gravity traps the particles beneath the conveying plate in the dustpan until dumping is accomplished. The brushes continue on through a comb, on around the main pulley and back to the opening for another stroke.
