    Abstract: A brush handle is disclosed having a core member which is surrounded by a layer of compressible and resilient gripping material of a non-slip nature, the layer of gripping material closely conforming to the contour of the brush handle and being mechanically interlocked to the handle by projections which are integral with the core member and extend into the layer of gripping material, and also at least partially bonded one to the other by heat and or chemicals. A brush having the above described handle sealingly secured to a brush head utilizing the layer of gripping material and a method of manufacturing a brush handle are also disclosed.

    Abstract: This invention pertains to a novel paint brush with inverted bristle clamping panel, a removable bristle pack and a panel hinge yield mechanism. The paint brush provides ready cleaning after use by disengaging the hinged inverted bristle clamping panel, removing the bristles and thereby exposing all of the bristles to the cleaning solution. The panel has a resilient release mechanism which yields slightly when undue force is applied to the inverted hinged panel against the bristles.

A paint brush comprising: (a) a paint brush body and handle, the body having formed in one end thereof a cavity for receiving a group of bristles; (b) a pair of pivotal members secured to respective sides of the body, and projecting over the cavity, the pivotal members being capable of abutting bristles when moved to a first closed position, and being remote from such bristles when moved to a second open position; (c) a securing member positioned on the body for securing the pivotal members in a first position and releasing the pivotal members for movement to a second open position.

A unitary paint brush with replaceable bristles comprising: (a) a paint brush body and handle, the body having formed in one end thereof opposite the handle a cavity adapted for receiving a group of bristles; (b) at least one releasable member secured to one side of the paint brush body, and projecting over the cavity, the releasable member being capable of abutting the bristles when moved to a first closed position, and being removed from the bristles when moved to a second open position; (c) at least one movable securing member for securing the hinged releasable member in a first position and releasing the hinged releasable member for movement to a second open position; and (d) a group of bristles held together and located within the cavity of the holder, and held in place by the hinged releasable member, said bristle group being removable and secured in place by the releasable mender.

    Abstract: A paint-coating brush is disclosed which comprises a body with an axial center bore and with a threaded portion on the butt side, a plurality of piliform members bundled on the outer surface of a muzzle-side end portion of the body, a cylindrical sleeve for fastening the piliform members to the body, and a cylindrical cover tube with which the piliform members are sheathed in such a manner that one end portion of the piliform members is left unsheathed. The cover tube is either made of a rigid material or in the form of a strap wound round the piliform members and the sleeve. In order to mount this paint-coating brush on an automatic paint-coating installation such as a robot, the above-mentioned threaded portion of the body is threaded into a tapped hole in the paint-coating installation.
