  • Patent number: 5517177
Abstract: A portable alarm device comprised of an electronic circuit that, among other components, includes a power cell, a cell clip that holds the cell in position and an audio output means for emitting an audible alarm sound. The circuit is mounted in a folder with a centralized fold, thus forming two folder halves positioned in spaced apart adjacency, the folder including an interlocking means for temporarily securing the folder halves together so that the folder remains in a closed position. A tab is positioned on one folder half opposite the circuit and is designed to easily slide between the power cell and the cell clip when the folder is in the closed position, thus breaking the circuit and preventing the alarm from sounding. When the folder is placed in the closed, but not secured orientation, between or under an object of importance, the alarm will sound if the object is moved since this allows the folder halves to move apart thus withdrawing the tab and closing the circuit.

  • Patent number: 5107073
Abstract: A housing designed to contain a logic circuit (15) comprising two shells (11a, 11b) each including a welding area (17a, 17b) having an appropriate geometry permitting ultrasonic welding, such that when both shells are assembled before a welding phase, they are shifted along a vertical axis (20). The supporting plate (13) comprises a mounting ear (23) while the shells comprise a receptacle (33a, 33b). During the welding phase, there is no concomitant contact between any of the upper face (26) and lower face (27) of the ear (23) and the corresponding bearing faces (34a, 34b) of the receptacles, owing to a shift (21). The shift is reduced and the concomitant contact takes place between the bearing faces (34a, 34b) of the receptacles and each of the upper and lower faces (26, 27) of the ear (23) only when the welding phase is completed.

  • Patent number: 4911178
Abstract: A surgical dressing used to separate and hold electrical leads or wires is disclosed. Following heart surgery, negative and positive electrical leads may be attached to a patient's heart in pairs and left protruding from an incision or incisions in the patient's chest so the patient's heartbeat can be stabilized by external means without reopening the patient's chest. These electrical leads are wrapped around themselves by medical personnel but frequently become tangled and must be separated before they can be attached to a pacemaker machine in an emergency. The dressing disclosed is a booklet which uses compartments in the form of pockets or pages for receiving the electrical leads and holding them in a tangle-free, separated condition for easy, rapid access and use in an emergency.
