With Removable Inner Tube Patents (Class 152/166)
  • Patent number: 9592706
Abstract: A shoulder land portion is constructed by block rows. Shoulder lateral grooves sectionalize the block rows. The shoulder lateral grooves extend along the tire width direction in such a manner as to cut across ground contact ends. A plurality of projections is provided on a wall surface of the shoulder lateral groove. The projections protrude out of the wall surface of the shoulder lateral groove without reaching a center of a groove width of the shoulder lateral groove and are lined up in a length direction of the shoulder lateral groove in an outside area in the tire width direction from the ground contact end. The projection is formed into a triangular shape or a trapezoidal shape in its plan view and is formed into a triangular shape or a trapezoidal shape in its front elevational view.

  • Patent number: 9481208
Abstract: A tire according to an embodiment of the present invention specifically has the annular inner ring band and the annular outer ring band separated from and concentric with the inner ring band, on the outer peripheral side of the wheel, and includes an air bag between the inner ring band and the outer ring band, the air bag including the air intake/discharge mechanism that communicates with the outside. A support body for coupling the inner ring band and the outer ring band is included. A plurality of the air bags is present in a peripheral direction of the tire. Furthermore, the outer ring band, is formed of a rubber composition for a tire. An air discharge hole of the air bag communicates with an outer most layer of the outer ring band. With this configuration, the tire that has advantages of both of a non-pneumatic tire and a pneumatic tire is realized.

  • Patent number: 6557604
Abstract: A safety liner (20) for a vehicle tire (500) includes a toroidal tube (22) having at least one hole (24). At least one plug (26) is selectively insertable into the at least one hole (24). Toroidal tube (22) is compressible into a flattened circular shape by a compressive force, and when the compressive force is removed, the toroidal tube (22) resiliently assumes its original toroidal shape. Safety liner (20) is installed in the cavity (503) of vehicle tire (500) as the vehicle tire (500) is being installed on the tire rim (502). If a blowout or other leak occurs, safety liner (20) will cause the shape and pressure of vehicle tire (500) to be retained for a period of time.

  • Patent number: 6105641
Abstract: A semi-pneumatic tire assembly including a tire casing 22 and a lining 26 is provided. The lining 26 includes a contoured inward surface 30 defining an inflation chamber 18 about an associated wheel rim. The tire assembly is formed by injecting a curable, lining-forming material 96 into a cavity 57 defmed between the tire casing 22 and a molding member 50. The molding member 50 includes a contoured outer surface 54 which molds the inward surface of the lining 26. The molding member 50 may be an inflatable airbag 100 retained in the tire assembly during service. Alternately, the molding member 50 may be a solid core 114 which is removed prior to mounting the tire casing 22 and lining 26 on the associated rim.
