Abstract: Disclosed herein is a coupling system for a tire traction device comprising: a first wedge block, a second wedge block, a first wedge receiver and a second wedge receiver. In one example, each wedge block includes a surface defining a tie receiver. Also disclosed are first and second wedge receivers. Also disclosed is a tire traction device and a method for producing the tire traction device. The tire traction device removably attached to a vehicle tire or wheel. The traction device in one example comprising: a tread portion comprising a tread surface, the tread portion comprising a first material; a plurality of sidewall portions, the sidewall portions comprising a second material; wherein the tread portion and sidewall portions are cast in a single mold as a unitary structure.
Abstract: A tyre for vehicles which does not require pressurisation by means of a pressurised fluid has a tread, two sidewalls, and two beads which are attached to a wheel rim made of elastomer material, and is provided with at least one tubular reinforcement body which is associated with the tread; each of the sidewalls having a respective homogeneous resilient annular membrane, a straight generatrix of which forms an angle (A) other than 90° with the axis of the tyre; the membranes being stretched radially between the tread and the beads such as to be pre-tensioned in the absence of external loads acting on the tyre.

Abstract: A two-piece tire assembly has a removable tread belt 12 for installing about the circumference of a tire carcass 14. The tread belt has at least a pair of belt layers, and one layer comprising inextensible reinforcing cables inclined at substantially zero degrees relative to the circumferential direction of the tire assembly. The cables in zero degree ply have a tensile breaking load of at least 50,000 N.

Abstract: A two-piece tire assembly has a removable tread belt 12 for installing about the circumference of a tire carcass 14. The tread belt has a pair of lateral ends each axially extending beyond the inflated unloaded carcass 14 at the circumferential surface by a distance of at least 4% of the width as measured at the tread belt 12 and carcass 14 interface. The carcass 14 has an abrasion resistant rubber layer 82 at the tread belt interface. The tread belt 12 also has the abrasion resistance tread compound 82 at the carcass 14 interface. The tread belt 12 has a tread portion 80 that includes a tread cap 80A and a tread base 80B.

Abstract: An apparatus for use with an automotive wheel including a tire to provide additional traction includes a first and a second ring member fabricated of hard grooved metal material, each having a sufficient diameter and held in a spaced-apart parallel relation by a plurality of transversely oriented angled bar members rigidly connected at each end and equally spaced along the circumference of the rings to the rings so as to be adapted to receive therein and therebetween the tire. The angled bar members each have a convex portion member oriented towards the tire and a concave portion oriented away from the tire. At least one selectively adjustable strap is provided for connecting both of the ring members to the tire in a rotataionally fixed, but removable relation. The selectively adjustable strap has sufficient length to engage both the ring members and the tire in a compressive relation.
Abstract: An off road vehicle of the kind having fluid-distensible bag rollers for supporting the vehicle load uses bag rollers which are constructed to afford maximum flexibility in both the walls and tread and which are also constructed to be dynamically balanced. The vehicle also incorporates suspensions which effectively dampen oscillation of the bag rollers to facilitate and to permit high speed operations of the vehicle across rough terrain.A top drive roller is associated with a bag roller in certain embodiments of the off road vehicle in ways which minimize bag wear.Specific bag constructions are provided for improved operation of the off road vehicle for on-highway use.The vehicle includes two frame sections which are connected to permit frame (yaw) steering and swiveling (roll) between the two sections while preventing a bending between the frame sections (pitch) to thereby provide a strong back mode of operation. When equipped with 4 bags on each frame, the vehicle permits increased speed over rough terrain.
Abstract: A tire protector device with a covering, especially formed by plates, which exhibits at its ends next to the outside of the tire connector parts for fastening a chain net which covers the side wall of the tire. The edge of said chain net remote from the connector parts being connected to a holding strand via connection parts which are formed of tension devices which have at least one tension spring forming a store of tensional force and/or which exhibits each a connector member carried movably on the holding strand.
