Tire Secured Patents (Class 152/191)
  • Patent number: 10710221
Abstract: A method and a device seek to improve productivity of the installation of fasteners. Improved productivity is targeted by holding a fastener to a driving tool with mechanical components for a substantial portion of an installation sequence to prevent nuisance disengagement between fasteners and their driving tool including dropping of fasteners early in an installation cycle. The productivity of this fastener holding approach is best realized by allowing a streamlined operation with little interaction between the device and an operator. Specifically, a fastener installation device is described which requires no direct manipulation of the device during the sequence of loading a fastener, installation of the fastener, disengagement of the device from the fastener to allow complete installation of the fastener, and loading a subsequent fastener.

  • Patent number: 9770215
Abstract: A process for deploying an anti-scattering grid in a mammograph is provided. The mammograph comprises a radiation source configured to emit radiation for taking mammographic images of a patient, a radiation detector comprising a network of sensors arranged periodically with a first pitch, and an anti-scattering grid arranged between the source and the detector, the anti-scattering grid comprising absorption laminates of radiations arranged parallel to each other and distributed periodically with a second pitch. The process comprises: displacing the anti-scattering grid relative to the detector or displacing the detector relative to the anti-scattering grid during emission of radiation; and adapting the second pitch to the first pitch, wherein displacement is perpendicular to the direction of the laminates of the anti-scattering grid, the laminates being arranged parallel to a side of the anti-scattering grid positioned against the patient.

  • Patent number: 5454413
Abstract: An automobile traction enhancement device including a detachable continuous track disposed circumferentially around an automobile road tire. The track comprises a strong, flexible, matlike material having a plurality of evenly spaced U-shaped cleats and bars attached across the underlying tire tread area. The automobile traction enhancement device configured as an elongated strip having the bars and a portion of the cleats facing a road surface is first positioned in a driving path of a driven road wheel and the automobile is driven thereon. The device is then wrapped around the tire tread portion and interjoined by a pin which is inserted through holes in the track ends thereby linking the ends for use. The cleat sides engage the road wheel sidewalls thereby precluding side slippage from the wheel. The bars and a portion of the cleats engage the roadway thereby providing traction in snow and ice surface conditions.

  • Patent number: 4813466
Abstract: An improved support track assembly for both protecting and improving the flotation and mobility of the resilient wheels of a vehicle is disclosed herein that comprises both a manually operable retention assembly for fastening the track into an endless belt around the vehicle wheel, and a track storage reel that conveniently positions the track under the wheel and in alignment therewith prior to installation. The improved support track is formed from a plurality of track members that are pivotally interconnected by means of connector pins, and the retention assembly is formed from a retaining pin having a first end that is transversely insertable into a track member in a connector-pin capturing position, and a second pin formed from a resilient loop of spring steel. When the retaining pin is inserted into a pin-capturing position, the terminus of the loop is resiliently biased in a latching position.

  • Patent number: 4752105
Abstract: A resiliently flexible endless articulated track member for a vehicle includes a series of transverse track elements held together bead-fashion in abutting relationship under compression by a plurality of tensile core elements under tension. The said track elements are of taper section defined by taper sides which converge inwardly of the tensile core element to permit resilient flexing of the track member around a drive or guide wheel. Adjacent transverse track elements have pressure faces disposed outwardly of the tensile core element, the said pressure faces being adapted in use to abut against each other, to limit reverse bending of the track member under load. The tensile core elements are in the form of endless steel wire ropes, accommodated in seats defined by resilient seat members. The track elements are made up of inner and outer parts. Clamp members are provided to clamp the inner and outer parts and their resilient seat members together, around the tensile core elements.

  • Patent number: 4408646
Abstract: A wheeled vehicle flotation augmentation device is disclosed herein having at least elongated segments releasably connected together in a continuous and endless series of track block guides so as to form a circular tread about the periphery of a single wheel of the vehicle. The plurality of track block guides in the series are hingably coupled together and the adjacent ends of each segment of track block guides are joined by releasable pins. Each track block guide includes a flat base having outwardly projecting and spaced apart side horns which are separated by the wheel of the vehicle. The terminating tips of the side horns are rounded to aid in projecting a load bearing track block beyond full tire contact and so provide increased ground contact length or aspect ratio in soft-soil or snow environments.

  • Patent number: 4385652
Abstract: A plurality of sections are fitted together so that they fit around an uninflated tire and they are fastened together to form a rigid cylinder. The tire is then inflated thus holding the now solid rim or track in position. Each section includes a curved base and a ground-surface engaging projection extending therefrom. The curved base includes a planar plate portion at one end and a trailing jaw portion at the other end. The plate portion of one section engages the jaw portion of the next adjacent section and the jaws are then closed over the plate and a fastener such as a rivet or the like, is placed through the jaws and through the plate thus forming the rigid connection. There is room provided in the engagement of the plate with the jaws to adjust the sections before fastening same so that the desired diameter of the finished rim or track may be obtained.
