Abstract: An anti-skid tire apparatus includes a cover structure having a plurality of sections, each of the sections having an outer tread surface, the each section having internal and external sidewalls, the external sidewall having a plurality of fastening slots, the outer tread surface having a plurality of grooves, the grooves having a first plurality of apertures, a plurality of cleats each having a plurality of jagged edges, the cleats being permanently affixed in the first plurality of apertures at fixed intervals along the outer tread surface of the sections, a plurality of straps affixed onto the plurality of fastening slots, a belt passing through the plurality of straps, the belt having a belt buckle to fasten ends of the belt, and a connecting hook and an eyelet located at the internal sidewall of each section, the connecting hook and the eyelet fastening the sections together.
Abstract: A non-skid device for motor vehicle tires comprises at least two strands of cable joined at their ends and having adjustably threaded thereon a plurality of pairs of half-brackets separated from one another by cross pieces in contact with the tread of the tire. The half-brackets are symmetrically disposed and have two branches, a first branch of each half-bracket resting against the tire tread. The second branch of one of the half-brackets in each pair rests against one of the flanks of the tire, and the second branch of the remaining half-bracket rests against the other flank of the tire.
Abstract: Anti-skidding device for vehicle wheels with tires, particularly pneumatic tires, for ice and snow surfaces. The anti-skidding device 100 consists of a support disk 120 which can be attached at the wheel disk or rim 11. The support disk is provided, adjacent to its periphery, with a plurality of anti-skidding arms 140 which extend radially in a fixed manner, equally spaced apart or are pivotal about axes 141 which extend parallel to the wheel disk bearing axis 117. The anti-skidding arms are prebent sections of plastic which engage over the tire travel surface 14 and carry spikes at their free ends.
Abstract: A traction device includes traction arms each having a traction finger extending transversely to the treadwall portion of a tire while supported by a shank portion extending to a carrier plate. Pivotal support arms on the carrier plate engage the hub section of the wheel rim by projecting through openings through spoke portions of the rim. The free ends of the support arms engage a hub with a threaded opening received on a threaded shaft that is moved into contact with the axle member of the vehicle and supported by the carrier plate.
Abstract: An auxiliary gripping member for gripping shoes for vehicle wheels is disclosed. The auxiliary gripping members can be affixed to a gripping shoe which is attached to a gripping wheel without disassembly therefrom. In a preferred embodiment, the auxiliary gripping members are attachable without the need for tools and without creating undue stress on the mounting mechanism.
