    Abstract: A method of transferring a micro device and an array of micro devices are disclosed. A carrier substrate carrying a micro device connected to a bonding layer is heated to a temperature below a liquidus temperature of the bonding layer, and a transfer head is heated to a temperature above the liquidus temperature of the bonding layer. Upon contacting the micro device with the transfer head, the heat from the transfer head transfers into the bonding layer to at least partially melt the bonding layer. A voltage applied to the transfer head creates a grip force which picks up the micro device from the carrier substrate.

    Abstract: An applicator roll (1) is described for a labeling apparatus for paying out and applying self-adhesive labels, which with each operating cycle moves one self-adhesive label into a dispensing position underneath an applicator roll. Depending on the printing mechanism used in the labeling apparatus, whether printing an even or an odd number of digits, it is advantageous to arranged a profiled ring (32) formed on a sleeve (31) of the applicator roll (1) in the center or off center. In addition, label formats of different widths require applicator rolls of different widths. These problems are solved in the applicator roll (1) described here in that its sleeve (31) supports two cylindrical jackets (34) on either side of the profiled ring (32). The cylindrical jackets (34) are axially displaceable on the sleeve (31) and can be releasably, positively locked in several positions against axial shifting, preferably by mutual engagement of an annular collar (38) and an annular groove (40).

A veneer-panel laying and interlinking device has a buffer acceleration belt with a combined reversing action. The laying device has a veneer-assembly laying belt and is embodied as a recirculating chain device with a recirculating supporting surface to form a fall-through gap, which can be moved forward and backward and raised and lowered for the front or rear veneer-panel edge and can be adjusted to the respective deposition and interleaving position on the veneer-assembly laying belt.

    Abstract: An apparatus for applying labels to articles being moved in a single-file along a conveyor assembly by a primary conveyor belt. Articles such as video cassette containers or CD containers are conveyed in an upright singulated fashion along a conveyor assembly. Each individual article enters a labeling station where the article contacts a biasing assembly that includes a biasing belt. The biasing belt exerts a lateral force on the article to press the article into contact with a stationary guide assembly. The biasing belt is operated at substantially the same speed as the primary conveyor belt such that the article is held in contact with the stationary guide assembly as the article moves along the labeling station. A labeling unit applies a label to the article as the article is held in contact with the stationary guide assembly by the biasing belt.

Preferably, a spiral pattern (70) is formed by the rotating roller (36) to secure the wafer tape (26) to the wafer (16) to avoid forming air bubbles or creases between the wafer tape and wafer. The method and apparatus is especially suitable for securely adhering fragile wafers to wafer tape that are to be subsequently broken along kerfs.

A spray mechanism including a spray nozzle applies a spray of an adhesive material to the group of the pocket coil springs.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a mattress having a core formed from a plurality of elongated rows of interconnected coil spring containing fabric pockets, each row having a plurality of spaced apart pockets with a spring encased in each pocket and having an elastic strip of material between adjacent rows. A first row of spring encased pockets is placed in a tray in a horizontal position and held in the tray by fingers which engage the fabric of the pockets at the ends of each spring, there being a finger at each end of each pocket. The elastic strip of material may thereafter be bonded to the row and adhesive may be placed on the upper surface of the elastic material. The tray is mounted on a pivotable plate which is then rotated to a vertical position and moved linearly toward a table containing prior rows of the core to bond the elastic strip carried in the tray to the last row on the table.
