The device includes a driveable continuous transport conveyor with uniformly spaced, driveable and rotating receiving means for the packages. It also includes a driveable continuous carrier conveyor with uniformly spaced decorations, and a contact region which forms a transfer location, having a region of the transfer location means for applying pressure onto the carrier conveyor in the direction of the packages and means for heating the decoration.

A protective lacquer layer comprising a polyester, polyester/vinyl or polyester/vinyl with wax lacquer is printed onto the skim coat. An ink design layer comprising one or more polyester inks is printed onto the protective lacquer layer. An adhesive layer comprising a polyester, polyester/vinyl or polyester/vinyl with wax adhesive is printed onto the ink design layer.

    Abstract: An apparatus for applying heat transfer labels, disposed on a web, to containers. In one embodiment, the apparatus is intended for round, non-tapered containers and comprises a continuously rotating turret, a container transport system for continuously delivering containers to and away from the turret and a web transport system for moving a web containing heat-transfer labels into position for label transferring. The turret includes a rotably driven shaft and a plurality of cup assemblies arranged in a circle around the shaft and coupled thereto. Each cup assembly includes a cup used to hold a container, the cup being rotably driven independently of the shaft and in a required direction. A nozzle assembly is associated with each cup assembly and is used to secure a container within its respective cup and, if necessary, to inflate the container to impart sufficient rigidity thereto for labelling. Each cup assembly and its associated nozzle assembly together define a container holding station.

    Abstract: The invention concerns the automated robotic system for dispensing drugs from vials into liquid containers such as IV bags or syringes. A robot selects a vial and a suitable container and transports them to a processing station together with a needle which may be double-ended. At the processing station the contents of the vial are transferred into the container. Some of the contents of the container may be transferred into the vial in order to reconstitute and/or wash out the vial contents and agitation may be provided for the vial. Various additional devices may be provided such as a decapping device for the vials, an alcohol swabbing station for swabbing the top of a vial and/or the input port of a IV bag or syringe. Moreover, a label printer may be provided so that the robot may deliver a label with the finally processed IV bag and empty vial to a verification station. When IV bags are used, the invention may feature a conveyor of trays of the bags to a pick-up station of the robot.

    Abstract: An in-mold label dispenser for a blow molding machine having a dispensing head mounted on a base for movement along a first path from adjacent a label magazine to between the open sections of a mold. The label carrier is mounted on the dispensing head for movement along a second path substantially transverse to the first path from a retracted to an extended position. A drive mechanism is mounted in the base for moving the dispensing head along the first path and the label carrier along the second path in co-ordination with the opening of the mold. An adjustable stop assembly is provided on the label carrier for stopping movement of the label carrier along the second path after the label carrier has moved a sufficient distance into the mold section to establish a gap of predetermined width between the label and the wall of the mold cavity.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus for applying labels to articles which are particularly useful for articles which are relatively flimsy and dimensionally unstable, such as plastic carriers for a plurality of filled containers wherein the carrier has a top panel and a skirt extending downwardly therefrom with surface areas on the skirt for receiving labels. In the embodiment shown a series of articles are indexed through a label receiving position. Labels are transferred from a label supply and are pressed against the label receiving surface area on the skirt of the article. The opposite side of the skirt is supported against substantial movement while the label is being pressed against the skirt. An adhesive is applied to the label receiving area on the skirt as the article is being indexed into the label receiving position.
