Abstract: A machine for fitting and removing a tire (1) from a rim (2) of a wheel (3). The machine comprises a frame (10), a rotating table (11) for attaching the wheel to and for rotating the rim about its axis (Y), and a tool for fitting and/or removing the tire from the rim. The machine also comprises a lever (12) to which a pressure element (13) is attached in order to push the bead (6) of the tire toward a circumferential recess of the rim. The lever (12) is connected to the frame (10) and comprises a first articulation in order to bring a pressure element (13) closer to or further from the axis (Y), and a second articulation in order to bring the pressure element (13) closer to or further from a central plane (PC) perpendicular to the axis (Y) and passing through the center (D) of the rim (2).
Abstract: Systems for removing a tire from a rim are shown and described. In one embodiment, the system comprises a substantially flat base. A centerpiece is configured to attach to the base. A primary lever having a tire-interface portion at one end, a handle at the opposite end, and a centerpiece-attachment in between the tire-interface the said handle is also a component of the system. The primary lever is configured to attach to the centerpiece in a manner that allows the primary lever to rotate relative to the centerpiece.
Abstract: A device for clamping onto an end of a wheel casting rim and transporting the wheel casting includes a pair of movable arms mounted upon an end of a robot arm. A pair of brackets are mounted upon the ends of each arm. A roller is mounted upon each end of each bracket. The rollers engage a flange formed upon the end or the wheel rim casting. The arms are contracted toward one another to clamp the wheel casting between the rollers.
