Patent number: 8173026Abstract: Pressurized water evaporation systems and methods are used to evaporate large quantities of water from water impoundment ponds or other waste water sources. Water evaporation systems include one or more water evaporation barrels having an air acceleration chamber, water atomization chamber, and pressurizable air and water lines in fluid communication with the barrel. Fast moving air and water create fine water droplets within the water atomization chamber of each barrel. A fine spray or mist of tiny water droplets is emitted from a discharge nozzle of each barrel. Water evaporation systems and methods can be used to efficiently evaporate waster water produced by a wide variety of industrial processes, including waste water produced at oil or gas wells.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2009Date of Patent: May 8, 2012Assignee: ReformWater, LLCInventors: Rodney Rasmussen, Paul C. Patent number: 8173025Abstract: Water evaporation devices, systems and methods are used to evaporate large quantities of water from water impoundment ponds or other waste water sources. Water evaporation devices include a water evaporation barrel having an air acceleration chamber that creates venturi suction so as to draw water from a water source into a venturi chamber. Fast moving air and water create fine water droplets within a water atomization chamber, which droplets are then emitted from the water evaporation barrel through a discharge nozzle and into the air as a spray or cloud of fine water droplets. Water evaporation devices and associated systems and methods can be used to efficiently evaporate waster water produced by a wide variety of industrial processes.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2009Date of Patent: May 8, 2012Assignee: ReformWater, LLCInventors: J. Patent number: 7819977Abstract: A spray-dried starch hydrolysate agglomerate product has a dextrose equivalent between 5 and 35, a moisture content <6% by weight, an unpacked bulk density between 0.4 and 0.6 g/cm3, compressibility less than 10%, particle sizes <5% by weight is >500 micron and <5% by weight is <53 micron, average particle size between 150-250 micron, a mechanical stability of >95%, a static angle of repose <45°, and dissolution speed <180 seconds. Spraying onto a solid powder material, a liquid material atomised by means of one or more two-fluid nozzles. Fluid heats and conveys this material. Injecting the solid powder in the top of the drying tower, the trajectory of the powder crosses the spray pattern of the atomised liquid. The liquid is atomised by one or more two-fluid nozzles is a starch hydrolysate solution using steam as the atomizing fluid.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2004Date of Patent: October 26, 2010Assignee: Syram Belgium nvInventors: Helena Vanhoutte, Amale Nezzal, Bart Moyson

Publication number: 20090065153Abstract: This invention relates to a method of crystallization of salt from brine on top of any soil surface through airborne brine droplet crystallization, controlled moisture depth, capillary action and enhanced renewable energy to grow a layer of salt which can be collected. The brine is pumped from an underground source, sprayed in ambient air over a solid surface and, if water is not completely evaporated, allowed to seep through the surface to saturate the capillary zone. Water is evaporated while the sprayed brine is in the air or on the surface where capillary action brings it up to the surface for the water component to be evaporated by net heat gained from the environment resulting in salt crystallization. The evaporation of sprayed brine is enhanced by smaller droplet size, residence time due the spray height and wind machines to reduce humidity and increase natural thermal input.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2007Publication date: March 12, 2009Inventor: Mansur Abahusayn
