Abstract: A hinge device comprising a main body in the form of a channel member, a mount pin projecting outward from the web of the main body, and a pressing plate pivoted at its one end to the inner side of one side wall of the main body and retractable into the channel of the main body, the pressing plate being provided with a wedge formation on one side surface thereof opposed to said one side wall of the main body so as to gradually approach the other side wall of the main body as the pressing plate is retracted into the channel of the main body. A plate, such as the closure plate of a cabinet, can be loosely fitted into the channel of the main body with the pressing plate withdrawn therefrom and can be tightly held in the channel by the wedging effect produced when the pressing plate is retracted. The hinge device can be installed in place easily and yet holds the plate reliably.

Abstract: A semi-concealed hinge has been provided for mounting a door in a relatively close adjustable operating relation with a furniture side rail or frame. A socket part is adapted to be substantially fully positioned within a backwardly and edgewise open slot in the door to carry a swing arm part on a hinged knuckle, in such a manner as to enable the door to be pressure-retained in a desired position, such as in a closed position. A connector or screw-on bracket-like plate is either integral with or secured to the swing arm part and, if it is a separate part, has a screw and slot mounted relation with the swing arm part that enables "up" and "down" adjustment of the door with respect to the frame. The connector or screw-on plate has opposed guide flange portions that are adapted to fit over and to be carried along opposite sides of the frame, and to cooperate with an inwardly positioned adjustment plate.

Abstract: A hinge for mounting a door swingably on the frame of a piece of furniture includes one mounting member mountable on the door and a second mounting member mountable on the frame. The two members are connected by a hinge pin or by hinge pins and hinge links. Between the member mounted on the frame and the frame itself there is a wedge type intermediate member for adjusting the distance between this mounting member and the face of the frame.
