Coil Patents (Class 16/304)
  • Patent number: 4756054
Abstract: This invention discloses a tip out hinge specifically designed for use with a storage container located within a cabinet. The tip out hinge provides easy access to the contents of a storage container located within a cabinet. For example, the tip out hinge is used in a tip out storage container in a bathroom for clothing or bathroom items. It also provides access to a storage facility located behind a false front in a bathroom or kitchen. The tip out hinge permits the storage unit to tip forward from the cabinet, remain open until closing begins, remain closed even when bumped, provide a large opening for easy access to the storage container and will not interfere with the operation of any doors or drawers located below the tip out storage container.

  • Patent number: 4596062
Abstract: A hinge has a catch mechanism including a pressure spring which is arranged in a bush member of plastic material. When the hinge is closed the pressure spring acts through the bush member on a hinge link. A steel pin has a head which rests against a hinge link axle and is provided within the pressure spring.

  • Patent number: 4352222
Abstract: A hinge with a snap-in mechanism is activated by a spring. The spring is housed in a bush-like member pivotally mounted on a hinge axle of the hinge arm. There are two hinge links that connect the hinge arm with the hinge casing. The bush-like member presses on one hinge link when the hinge is in its closed position but rests mainly or completely on the hinge axle of the hinge link when the hinge is in its open position.

  • Patent number: 4307486
Abstract: In a hinge structure, members to be joined to each other each have curved edge portions spaced from each other along the edge. A cut out is formed in the inner sides of the contiguous curved edge portions, thus defining a pair of projections which face each other across a spacing d and extend from the one side of one curved edge portion toward that of the contiguous one. The curved edge portions and the projections of the two joint members thus formed are overlaid on each other, and a compressible coil spring member is inserted through the spacing d above mentioned and fitted on the pair of overlapping projections where the spring member retains the joint members in a pivotal relationship by action of its restoring force.
