Abstract: Four leveling extensible legs are mounted on a heavy display case. These legs each include a cylindrical base mounted on the case which threadedly engages an inner cylindrical member that is extensible and retractable to engage the floor. An adapter includes a cylindrical body having a cavity that is closed at its distal end by a flange. This flange is bolted to a caster flange. The body is open at its proximal end to receive the leg inner member, a set screw releasably secures the adapter body and the attached caster to the leg inner member for movement therewith. This enables the display case to be moved during construction. The caster is easily removed by loosening the adapter set screw.

  • Patent number: 5742977
Abstract: A wheel adapter that can be slipped onto the legs of equipment and shelving, such that the equipment and shelving can be rolled into a different location. The adapter comprises a wheel which is attached to a socket that has an inner socket cavity. A secondary adapter is coupled to the socket. The secondary adapter has an opening that allows the leg to be inserted into the socket cavity and secured to the wheel adapter. There are typically a plurality of different size secondary adapters. The opening for each secondary adapter is one of a number of different sizes and shapes that correspond to the size and shape of the leg. The secondary adapter may be easily replaced by another adapter so that the overall assembly can be used with different legs. The wheel can be of the caster variety to allow the equipment and shelving to be moved in any direction.

  • Patent number: 5727284
Abstract: An adapter is removably attached with engagement means, such as screws, to an object such as the leg of a piece of furniture, such as a table or chair. The adapter attaches to the furniture leg in such a manner that the screws do not mar the furniture, nor do they require a groove, indentation or recess on the furniture leg for attachment thereto. The adapter is configured so that the distance from the leg to the ground is less than the diameter of the wheel mounted on the adapter. The adapter is also configured so that the leg is laterally displaced from the wheel. The wheel is also swingably retractable so that the furniture can be made stationary without having to remove the adapter.

  • Patent number: 5634240
Abstract: Removably attachable roller components provide an article of luggage or other objects with a rolling capability. The roller components are economical to manufacture, easy to attach to an article of luggage, and strong enough to resist detachment under high impact forces. Further, the assembly of components, while particularly useful for an article of luggage, are adaptable to provide other types of articles with a rolling capability. The roller components include a first coupling member attachable to a selected location on an article, and a second coupling member attached to a wheel subassembly and engageable with to the first coupling member. The first coupling member has one side adapted for attachment to the selected location on the article, and a plurality of hook or loop fasteners extending away from the other side. The second coupling member supports a wheel structure on one side and a plurality of hook or loop fasteners extending away from an opposite side.

Abstract: A golf putter training device that includes a removeably attachable bracket and a roller mounted in the bracket. In one embodiment, the invention features a golf putter comprising a bracket removeably attachable to the bottom surface of a putter and a roller mounted in the bracket. The bracket of the training device is held onto the bottom face of the club head by mounting pins that fit into outwardly facing holes in the bottom surface of the putter. The bracket that holds the roller may be fabricated of a flexible material, such as spring steel or plastic. The roller is approximately 70% the length of the club head to provide friction to alert the user to a misaligned putting stroke.

  • Patent number: 5428866
Abstract: A mounting plate for detachably fixing a heavy duty, normally permanently attached, swivelling base plate caster roller unit to an object to be transported is cut from an extrusion shaped to form a flat bottom plate with raised parallel sides each including an overhanging flange such that parallel grooves are provided into which the caster's swiveling base plate can slide. Attachment of the mounting plate to the transportable object utilizes at least two mounting pins (screws, bolts or rivets), at least one of which protrudes from the mounting plate inside surface to form a stop to prevent the swivel plate from sliding all the way through. A spring loaded button, which becomes flush with the mounting plate when depressed, allows the caster swivel plate to enter the cavity provided by the parallel extruded grooves and the protruding mounting stop.
