Abstract: A high strength offset tube hinge is provided for coupling tubing or rods. The hinge has a limited range and prevents overextension with a built-in stop feature that prevents any angles over the limited range. The application for the hinge lies in convertible tops for automobiles and boats as well as awnings or similar applications where it is desirable to have two coupled tubes or rods with limited pivoting range in a single plane.
Abstract: A cabinet with a closure door having a rigid stay for holding the door in an open position. The stay is basically U-shaped and is pivotally held upon a body of the cabinet to be located around hinged together side walls of the body and door in the door open position. As the stay lies up against these side walls, it does not obstruct any access space into the body and it also holds the door with its closure surface directly facing the operator to enable him to maintain equipment upon the door also.

Abstract: A control housing for storing control boxes below ground level. The housing includes an arm for raising the controls out of the housing for access. A rotatable lift assembly is connectable to a position sensitive control box and maintains the position sensitive control in its original position as the arm is raised.
Abstract: A floating hinge of the type which is composed of a lower member and an upper member each having a surface face and a channel including a pair of guideways located at their distal ends. A first arm and a second arm are employed to connect the upper member and the lower member and to provide movement of the members between an open position and a closed position. The first arm has a fixed end pivotably fixed to the lower member and a sliding end pivotably and slidably fixed to the upper member. The second arm has a fixed end pivotably affixed to the upper member and a sliding end pivotably and slidably fixed to the lower member. The sliding ends of the arms are pivotably and slidably affixed to their respective upper or lower member by a pin engaging an eccentrically fixed orifice of a pair of floating hinge slides fitted within the guideways of the channels of the upper and lower members. Means can be used to secure the upper member to the lower member when the hinge is in the closed position.
Abstract: A portable, collapsible stretcher has frame poles, each of which have a medial joint which folds in one direction and two outer joints which fold in the opposite direction. A wedge is insertable into the medial joint to support the weight when the stretcher is extended. The outer joints have a locking mechanism which is operated by a linkage interconnecting the spreader bars and the folding legs. As the stretcher is extended, the outer joints are locked and the legs are unfolded from their normal position against the frame poles.
Abstract: Swing window arrangement equipped with a child safety device and having a pair of pivot mountings (12) which are each provided with a frame fastening plate (13) which supports, about a first pivot pin (15), a first, upper pivot arm (16) and, about a second, lower pivot pin (17), a second, lower pivot arm (18), at a certain distance from each other. The child safety device is only arranged on the one pivot mounting. A first component (23) of the child safety device, which forms a weight-loaded drop bolt, is arranged axially moveable on the frame fastening plate (13). A second component (24) of the child safety device, which is provided with a stop forming hook (24a), is fastened to the lower pivot arm (18) in order to be swung together with the latter and by this means is moved inwards into and outwards from a locking engagement with the first component (23).
Abstract: A furniture hinge for two housing parts has a housing mounted on one furniture part, a hinge arm mounted on the other furniture part, two pivotable hinge plates pivotally connecting the housing with the hinge arm, a spring which forms a locking device, a cylinder-and-piston unit having a piston pivotally mounted on the hinge arm and a brake cylinder slidably movable relative to the piston under the action of a cam lever mounted on one of the hinge plates and arranged to move the brake cylinder relative to the piston, wherein the sliding surface of the brake cylinder and/or the piston has a friction-increasing coating.
Abstract: This invention deals with a hinge for opening or closing a dust cover of record players, which, in order to keep the hinge body from being exposed, to prevent the opened dust cover from excessively projecting rearwardly and to stably sustain the dust cover at an intermediate opening angle, comprises: a cabinet; a dust cover; a slider disposed vertically slidable in the rear portion of the cabinet on each side; a spring urging the slider upward; a support member removably mounted to the dust cover and rotatably mounted on the cabinet by a hinge pin; and a follower provided to the support member and adapted to contact the head of the slider. The hinge of this invention may be provided, in addition to the above construction, with a means to stably sustain the dust cover at an intermediate opening angle.
Abstract: A vehicle seat back adjuster for achieving fine increments of adjustsment in the order of 1.degree., without resort to translation overdrive, through employment of reaction backup for teeth in the order of 1.degree. pitch in an adjustment quadrant minimizing yield of components which could permit fine tooth disengagement. .Iadd.An inertia latch per se serves as stop element for seating back rest position as well as arresting element preventing forward tilting under high vehicle deceleration for all positions of adjustment. .Iaddend.
