Pintle Or Pivot Concealed In Hinged Member Patents (Class 16/379)
  • Patent number: 4422214
Abstract: Over-center hinge for a cabinet door, having a supporting-wall-related part which can be fastened to the supporting wall of a cabinet, and a door-related part joined pivotingly to the supporting-wall-related part by a linkage mechanism and constructed as a plug-in cup. In the peripheral wall of the cup a tongue biased toward the interior of the cup by a compression spring is mounted for pivoting over a given angle. On its contour surface projecting slantingly into the interior of the cup a contact surface provided in the area of the linkage end of the supporting-wall-related part, slides during a portion of the opening and closing movement between the hinge closed position and dead center position and urges the door into the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4400848
Abstract: A door hinge for furniture is made up of a box-like part designed to be set within or inset into a recess in a door from its back side, and has a spring-powered or pressed bolt for acting on a cam face at the end of an L-like support arm. The arm is fixed to the body or frame of a piece of furniture so that in one (or two) positions where the cam face has an inwardly offset of cut-out portion, the bolt will be responsible for a detent effect to keep the door in a shut position or in shut and or open positions. The L-like support arm is fixed to the body of the piece of furniture by way of a base or mounting plate having a guiding mounting ledge for cooperating with one leg of the support arm. The one leg portion has a wedging face and is responsible for guiding the support arm parallel to itself for changing the height of the arm. The arm is mounted on the base plate in position for normal use by a metal screw or the like.

  • Patent number: 4397064
Abstract: A hinge for pivotally mounting a door leaf on a cabinet with a box-like carcass having one open side, narrowed by a frame formed by strip-like frame members projecting each at right angles from a carcass wall toward an opposite carcass wall. The hinge has a door-leaf-related hinge part fastenable sunkenly in the back of the door leaf and, a frame-related hinge part which is pivotingly coupled by a link mechanism with the door-related hinge part. The frame-related part has a mounting piece fitted and mounted into the frame member recess and a block jointed by the link mechanism to the door-leaf-related hinge part and displaceably disposed in this recess parallel to the front side of the frame and at right angles to the end face of the corresponding frame member. The block is joined to the mounting part by a screw element whose threaded shank is in engagement with a counter-thread in the block and is held in the mounting piece rotatably but undisplaceably in the longitudinal direction of the shank.

  • Patent number: 4386449
Abstract: A furniture hinge includes a mounting member that is fixable on a frame of a cabinet and a hinge casing that is insertable into a bore in a door of the cabinet. A hinge arm is linked to the hinge casing by means of hinge links. The hinge arm is mounted on the mounting member by means of an intermediate member and is held on this intermediate member by a screw. The position of the hinge arm is adjustable with respect to the mounting member.

  • Patent number: 4368558
Abstract: A pressure operated hinge for swingably mounting a door on a frame behind their exposed front portions is of three parts involving a box having pressure elements to be mounted within a back-positioned cavity in the door, a swing arm part that carries a rounded, pin-like guide surface provided with at least one contoured slot therein, and a frame mounting plate part that is adapted to be adjustably secured by a set screw and a tongue and groove connection to the swing arm part. The operating relation between the pressure elements and the guide surface is designed to minimize friction therebetween, and the swing arm is adapted to move into the box to provide a substantially flush positioning when the door is fully closed.
