  • Patent number: 5960600
Abstract: A system for attaching carpet to a wall. This system uses a lightweight form body to support a strip of carpet. The form body is curved and the carpet is curled over the form. The form body can have a number of different profiles, depending on the look desired and the material being used. The form body is attached to the floor or the wall using common fasteners. Two special mitered corner pieces are included-one for an inside corner and one for an outside corner. To fit a corner, the length is measured and a straight cut is made across the corner piece. The mitered end that has been removed can be turned to fit against the factory made miter end to complete the corner. To facilitate installation, a special tool is included that is marked in feet. A 45.degree. miter is included in the center of the tool to score the carpet for miters. A second 45.degree. arm is included to make outside cuts as needed.

  • Patent number: 5766726
Abstract: A resilient, semi-rigid molding strip for installation along an edge of a linoleum floor surface, particularly suited to installations where the edge follows a curved contour. The molding strip is formed from extruded semi-rigid vinyl. There is a horizontal top flange and a vertical web having an angled nailing surface along its lower edge. The nailing surface correctly aligns the fasteners, and the web section is drawn downwardly during installation so that the top flange is resiliently biased against the linoleum surface. The characteristics of the semi-rigid material permit the strip to be bent in the horizontal plane without buckling the top flange or footing section of the web.

  • Patent number: 4653138
Abstract: A plurality of special metal clips is used to secure a wooden, carpet securing strip to a floor, and to retain a conventional threshold insert over the strip and the edge of any carpeting that is secured to the strip. Each clip has an upright, generally U-shaped section which extends along one side of the wooden strip (the side remote from the carpet), and which registers longitudinally with the other U-shaped sections of the remaining clips. These registering U-shaped sections of the clips are adapted to accommodate and frictionally to house the mounting rib of a conventional, elongate threshold insert, which is thus fastened by its rib to the clips so as to be held thereby in covering relation with the strip and the adjacent edge of the installed carpet, thereby to prevent accidental tripping over the carpet edge and any consequent damage thereto.
