Abstract: Guide assemblies are provided which include a translation guide, a door leaf for a lift, movable along the guide and comprising at least one support element placed at one end of the door leaf, at least one runner housed slidably in the translation guide and defining one or more connection seats to the support element, wherein the connection seat/s and the support element can be coupled with at least two different orientations of the runner with respect to the door leaf. For each orientation, the runner delimits at least a different friction surface with respect to the translation guide, the friction surfaces being non-equidistant from the support element so that the relative position between the door leaf and the translation guide can be changed by different orientations of the runner. The invention further relates to runners usable in a guide assembly.

Instead of the door/window riding on a metal track using a roller mechanism on a metal rail during the opening and closing process, the door/window rides on strips of either the same or different types of polymer, such as a high density polyethelyne plastic, for the same process. Abstract: A moveable sliding glass door track clip guide, ideally formed of plastic, and attached to the bead on the top of the rail on the sill which is subsequently secured in place by a sliding glass door track clip cover which will inhibit the door from jumping the track in strong wind loads. The guide contributes significantly to the general security of the SGD installation, since SGD's, by design, must be lifted then set upon their track. The guide slidably engages the upper bead on the track on the sill and thus resists the effort of the door to jump off the track by actually gripping the track itself. The method of the present invention involves the steps of first positioning a moveable panel in place. Thereafter, the main attachment screw is removed, and passed through the clip assembly. • Patent number: 5884361
Abstract: A wheel unit is disclosed for supporting a structure for movement on a track. The unit includes a rotatable wheel having a substantially flat bearing surface and supported on an axis for running on a track. A housing supports the wheel and includes a convex-shaped guide for maintaining the wheel on the track. A wheel and track combination is also disclosed wherein the wheel has a contact surface having a first dimension and supported by the housing to rotate about an axis. The track supports the housing and wheel and includes a contact surface for contacting the contact surface of the wheel and wherein the contact surface of the track has a second dimension larger than the first dimension of the contact surface on the wheel. Preferably, a guide keeps the wheel on the track while permitting the wheel to move laterally on the track.

Abstract: Apparatus for guiding displaceable elements. The apparatus of this invention serves for guiding sliding elements, particularly doors, windows, dividing walls, shutters and coverings, that are slidably journalled on an upper side thereof in a first guide and are guided on a lower side thereof with an additional guide which is in turn connected with the floor or a side wall, with the additional guide including at least one elastic element which is adapted for direct force transfer or force transfer via transfer means, so as to press against the underside of the sliding element, so that the underside of the sliding element is retained by the additional guide free from play, thereby avoiding objectionable noises, both at rest and during displacement of the sliding element.

Abstract: A guide mechanism for a sliding door of a vehicle includes a wedge with a protruding blade of thickness t fastened to an edge portion of the door, and a guide body fastened to a header of the vehicle. The vehicle header and edge portion of the door are adjacent one another when the door is in a closed position. First and second flexible wings are connected to the guide body forming a pair of wings defining a slot between the first and second wings with the wings separated a minimum distance, .delta..sub.0, across the slot. First and second flanges respectively connected to the first and second wings extend away from one another forming a lead-in channel having a dimension greater than the minimum distance, .delta..sub.0, for guiding the blade to engage the slot when the door is in the closed position. Making the blade thickness, t, greater than the minimum distance, .delta..sub.

  • Patent number: 5165142
Abstract: A runner guide for an elevator door includes a ramp member at an end of travel position along a guide rail for engaging a roller attached to the door and running on the guide rail. The roller has a rim disc which engages a surface on the ramp member to move an insert in the roller out of engagement with the rail thereby relieving the load on and preventing flattening of the running surface on the insert when the door is at rest. The insert is formed of a non-metallic and hard elastic material to reduce running noise. The door is supported by a pair of such rollers, each having a pair of rim discs, and one roller is asymmetric with one of the rim discs being of a smaller diameter to move past the ramp member associated with the other roller without contact during opening and closing of the door.

Abstract: A guide arrangement for a door element (14, 16), particularly a sliding door element for a shower enclosure, includes a guide element (10, 12) at the bottom edge of the door element including a rotatable member (34) engaged with a guide channel (8) of a lower guide rail (2). The guide element can be disengaged from the guide rail, when desired. The rotatable member (34) is at least partially mounted in a transverse hole (35) in a holding body so as to be at least partially rotatable about an axis of rotation extending substantially perpendicular to the plane of the door element (14, 16). The rotatable member is additionally provided with an actuator, preferably in the form of a grip (10). The rotatable member (34) carries a pintle (38) which, depending on its rotational position, either engages the guide rail (2) or is pivoted out of engagement with the guide rail.

  • Patent number: 4912807
Abstract: A sliding door/window track assembly particularly suited for use with thick glass. Fastenable directly to both the upper and lower edges of such glass, the assembly includes a frame member made of plastic. The frame member is suspended between a pair of guides formed within a track member. A plurality of keys, which ride in slots formed in the sides of the guides, are employed not only to suspend the frame member but also to lock it into the track member for security. Moreover, the track member also allows a large amount of foreign material to be deposited along the track before any interference with operation occurs. Further, the track assembly can be fabricated so that only plastic material rubs on plastic when the door/window is slid, thereby allowing for free movement with little friction.

Abstract: Hardware for converting a door panel into a sliding door includes a pair of two-wheel trolley assemblies for supporting a door panel, a one piece track for attachment above a door opening, and a guide assembly for the bottom of the door panel for stabilizing the door when it is in the closed position. The track has running surfaces at 90.degree. to each other on which the wheels run. For use with doors for refrigerated rooms, one of the running surfaces has elevated portions for raising one wheel of each trolley. When on the elevated portions, the door panel is moved outwards from the door opening, thereby minimizing damage by the sliding panel to the door seals.
