A Single Strip, Slat, Or Panel Connected To Track Patents (Class 160/208)
  • Patent number: 8656980
Abstract: A light shelf for controlling solar radiation that impinges on a building has a panel with a pair of support brackets. The brackets run along tracks secured to the building and engage the tracks to assume a variety of elevations. The brackets can be moved independently, allowing the panel to be tilted and may have pivot joints to facilitate tilting. The panel may be mounted to the brackets in a way that allows the panel to translate horizontally. The panel may have a plurality of elements that can be adjusted to change the surface area and may be automated to respond to ambient conditions.

  • Patent number: 8303056
Abstract: A cabinet door collapses and slides into a concealed position inside a door compartment of a cabinet. The door has a first wing which is pivotally connected to a second wing and to a vertical door-supporting bar which travel insides the door compartment. The second wing is guided by carriages running in upper and lower continuous guideways that extend inside the door compartment. A device for moving the door-supporting bar includes a stationary toothed belt inside the door compartment, a toothed wheel and guide pulleys carried by the door-supporting bar. The toothed wheel is operatively connected to a torsion spring inside the door-supporting bar. A locking device locks the toothed wheel, when the door wings are in a coplanar closed position, and releases the toothed wheel, when they are in a parallel open position.

  • Patent number: 8162027
Abstract: The present invention provides a combination of a door and door frame defining a door opening. The door frame comprises a horizontal header beam. The door opening has a horizontal top side and a horizontal bottom side, with the horizontal header beam defining the horizontal top side. The door comprises a top panel, a middle panel, a bottom panel, a first horizontal hinge member, a second horizontal hinge member and a third horizontal hinge member, each panel having a horizontal upper edge and a horizontal lower edge. The door is in the closed position when the top panel, the middle panel and the bottom panel are vertically aligned with one another and hanging downwardly from the horizontal header beam in a vertical plane of the door opening, with the horizontal upper edge of each panel above the horizontal lower edge of each respective panel, and the horizontal lower edge of the bottom panel is located in the lowermost position proximate to the horizontal bottom side of the door opening.

  • Patent number: 7621312
Abstract: A removal device and method of use that allows easy detachment of a suspended vertical blind slat's upper end from the generally C-shaped clip or other openable fastener suspending the slat for movement along a track. The device has a tubular and/or cylindrical configuration with preferred length and diameter dimensions of approximately four and two inches, respectively. Clip-releasing projections are connected across one end of the main body, in positions closely spaced apart from one another, but not in contact with one another. A light source can be optionally attached to the removal device in several configurations, to provide enhanced illumination of the fastener holding the vertical blind slat in place and thereby facilitate alignment of the lateral edges of the projections with the fastener before the needed upwardly-directed dislodging force is applied. Use of the removal device does not injure the projections, the slat, the operator, or the fastener.

  • Patent number: 7458410
Abstract: A joining assembly for “ganging” respective doors together such that by movement of one door causes the other doors to follow. A connecting plate and a spacer plate is screwed to the bottom of a primary door while the connecting plate includes a cam follower to ride in a groove in the bottom of a first secondary door. In this manner, both doors are “ganged” together. If other secondary doors are required to be joined with the previous two doors, a connecting angle plate is employed for securing to the secondary door so as to guide the third, fourth, etc. doors. A guide stop, hinge floor guide, and cam follower assembly is mounted to the last door in the multi-door series and the cam follower “tracks” in a floor guide hidden in a “pocket” when a storage pocket is employed in the installation. By ganging these doors, stability is imparted by the weight and mass of the doors.

  • Patent number: 6688556
Abstract: The invention relates to transport techniques and can be used for protecting passengers and a pilot in a cabin of an aircraft or another transport means against intense light, in addition to an auxiliary arrangement for moving mobile furniture elements. The dimming device comprises a blind and a mechanism for moving the blind, including guides for translational displacement of the blind and axial connecting elements of said mechanism. Intermediate non-rigid elements like, for example, a self-adhesive gearing band are arranged between contacting surfaces of the blind and the guides. The device ensures smooth displacement of the blind by means of decreasing friction force between the contacting elements and reduces noise occurring while the device is in use.

  • Patent number: 6336247
Abstract: A hanger assembly for a sliding screen door comprises a horizontally mounted track that fits within a standard door header and roller assembly, preferably one roller assembly per side of the screen door. Each roller assembly comprises at least a roller, and preferably two per roller assembly, and a holder that connects the roller(s) to the screen door. The holder includes a connecting bar portion that attaches to the roller(s) and a generally U shaped bracket portion that extends downwardly from the connecting bar portion, whereby the screen door is positioned and held snugly within the U shaped portion. A side of the bracket U shaped portion includes a slot for vertically and/or horizontally adjusting the screen by positioning of attachment means through the slot such as a screw.
