The window covering fabric thus formed can be installed in an overlapped fashion in a front side and a back side relative to each other to become a double-layer zebra-stripe shade and is movable through a transverse-moving means to make the light penetrating portions and the opaque portions overlapped or staggered with each other to facilitate adjustment of indoor lighting or dark condition.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2008Publication date: September 17, 2009Inventor: Li-Ming Cheng

Publication number: 20090151878Abstract: An assembly for controlling the passage of radiant energy through a skylight, a roof or a wall including at least two linked control members positioned across the defined region mounted for generally parallel linked movement relative to each other between a closed position and an open position. The control members have a plurality of transmitting areas and blocking areas arranged so that the respective transmitting areas and blocking areas of the control members are aligned when the members are in the closed position and the transmitting areas of the first control member are aligned with the transmitting areas of the second control member when the panels are in the open position. A motorized motion unit may be used for producing relative movement between the control members. The assembly is particularly well-adapted to be used with a series of adjacent dual panel glazing units where assemblies associated with each adjacent dual panel glazing unit are linked to and controlled by a single motion control device.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2009Publication date: June 18, 2009Applicant: KONVIN ASSOCIATES LTD.Inventors: Moshe Konstantin, Eitan Konstantino

Publication number: 20090114351Abstract: A suicide-deterring shower curtain for use in a shower stall is disclosed. An optional outer web has a plurality of apertures therethrough, and an inner web includes a plurality of flaps. Each flap corresponds to and substantially covers one of the apertures of the outer web. In use, with the shower curtain suspended proximate the top side thereof in the shower stall, water impacting the inner web rolls off each flap and is prevented from traversing the apertures of the outer web. Yet air may traverse freely through the apertures of the outer web and around the flaps of the inner web. As such, a person wrapped in the shower curtain is unlikely to asphyxiate since air may freely flow through the shower curtain.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 29, 2008Publication date: May 7, 2009Inventor: Steven Shilts

Patent number: 7458175Abstract: A retractable display apparatus (10) comprises a housing (12), a drum (14) journalled for rotation in the housing, a display sheet (16) wound on to the drum, and a slot (22) in the housing through which the display sheet can be unwound from the drum against the action of a return spring, wherein a flexible leader strip (28) extendable through the slot is provided for releasably attaching the display sheet to the drum (14) in an easy and convenient manner outside the housing (12). The leader strip (28) has ribs (28.2) along both longitudinal edges, one rib being engageable with the drum and the other with an undercut formation (30) secured to the display sheet (16).Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2004Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Inventors: Allen Meyer, David Ivy

Patent number: 7275581Abstract: A shutter device co-operating with driving means for enabling the shutter (1) to be displaced between an open position and a closed position, this shutter (1) being guided by a guide track (4, 5) and being designed to close off a bay (6) or other opening. The device having a drum (8) about which the shutter (1) is wound when the latter is in the open position such that the shutter forms a roll (31) made up of turns formed by successive layers of the shutter (1). The shutter (1) can be unwound from this roll towards its closed position. The device further has confining means for preventing the turns from forming wrinkles as the shutter (1) is being displaced into the closed position and/or for preventing these turns from slipping relative to one another.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2003Date of Patent: October 2, 2007Assignee: Dynaco International, S.A.Inventor: Benoit Coenraets

Patent number: 7192633Abstract: A covering for an architectural opening, having a first layer with alternating relatively opaque stripes and relatively translucent stripes, and a second layer with alternating relatively opaque stripes and relatively translucent stripes. The first and second layers are positioned one behind the other, with the stripes substantially parallel. The first and second layers are movable relative to one another in a direction substantially perpendicular to the stripes. The covering also includes a series of parallel binder threads for attaching the first layer to the second layer. The binder threads run substantially perpendicular to the stripes, and thereby, one of the layers can be slid along the binder threads when moved relative to the other. The blind is preferred to be woven as a double-layer fabric.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2003Date of Patent: March 20, 2007Assignee: Hunter Douglas Industries BVInventor: Anton Petrus Theodorus Hubertus Fransen

Patent number: 7185694Abstract: A sunshade for a vehicle such as an automobile includes a housing that is adapted to be mounted to a vehicle window and a drum member mounted for rotation within the housing about which a flexible, weblike shade element is wound. A retraction mechanism is provided for enabling the shade element to be moved from a first, retracted position wherein most of the shade element is wrapped about the drum member and a second, extended position wherein the shade element is at least partially unwrapped from the drum member. The retraction mechanism includes a biasing mechanism for biasing the drum member so that the shade element is urged toward the first, retracted position, and an arresting mechanism that is constructed and arranged so as to permit the drum member to be stopped when the shade element is in the second, extended position and, in addition, in at least one intermediate position that is between the first, retracted position and the second, extended position.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2002Date of Patent: March 6, 2007Assignee: Munchkin, Inc.Inventors: Steven B.
