Abstract: A shade device for a vehicle includes: a shade; a retracting mechanism attached to a base end of the shade and retracting the shade in a stored state; a stay attached to a tip end of the shade; an extractable constant force spring; a rod, its tip end portion being attached to the stay and its base end portion being connected to the constant force spring, biased in a deploying direction of the shade by biasing force of the constant force spring, and transmitting the biasing force to the stay; a guide rail that stores the rod and an extracted portion of the constant force spring in the stored state of the shade, and guides the rod when the shade shifts from the stored state to the deploying state; and a locking mechanism that locks movement of the rod in the stored state of the shade.

Abstract: The present latch apparatus includes a swinging piece having first and second independent latches or sliders sliding in first and second slots. The first and second sliders slide independently of each other. The first and second sliders engage an undersurface of an extension of a first object such as a gate. If either the first or second slider is engaged on the undersurface, the swinging piece is locked and is not swingable such that the first object such as the gate cannot itself swing away from a second object such as a barrier section. Only when each of the first and second sliders has been slid beyond the undersurface can the swinging piece swing to permit the first object such as the gate to be released and thus swingable itself relative to the second object such as the barrier section.

Abstract: A portable gate assembly provides a portable enclosure that can fit any doorway in order to confine kids and pets to a desired area. The assembly includes a pair of spaced posts and a flexible net coupled to and extending between the posts. A sound emitter is coupled to the net. The sound emitter has a sensor positioned therein. The sound emitter is operationally coupled to the sensor wherein the sound emitter emits an audible indicator upon the sensor sending a proximity signal to the sound emitter when an object or a user is within a predetermined distance of the net.

Abstract: An adjustable side channel assembly for use with screens and shades includes a pair of adjustable side guides, each laterally adjustable with respect to a corresponding side frame. Each side guide may be moved to a desired position and then secured to the side frame with a fastener. Each side guide includes an axial fabric retainer configured to receive a side gimp of a shade. Each fabric retainer is loosely retained in a hollow channel within the side guide and laterally movable to enable both sides of a shade to lie substantially parallel when the shade is drawn. A take-up mechanism includes dual rollers with the outer roller having a shorter width to provide space for the side gimps to roll up and not spiral out when the shade is taken up.

Abstract: A method of assembling a frame assembly for a partition system is disclosed. The frame assembly includes a partition panel, a fabric covering the panel, and a frame component. The frame component automatically and evenly tensions the fabric about the panel. The frame component provided according to this method includes a support element, a lockable element, and an integral hinge defined between the support and lockable elements. The support element defines a cavity for receiving and supporting the panel. The lockable element extends from and is moveable relative to the support element. The panel is inserted into the cavity, and the fabric is mounted to the lockable element. Next, the lockable element is moved about the integral hinge such that the fabric mounted to the lockable element is automatically and evenly tensioned about the panel. A backing strip may be mounted to the frame component to protect the fabric from the integral hinge.

Abstract: A sunshade curtain device has a main shaft, a positioning device, a first movable device, a second movable device, a third movable device, a bobbin, and a rope. A curtain fabric surrounds the main shaft. The main shaft is disposed on a lower edge of a window. A lower end of the positioning device is disposed on the lower edge of the window. The first movable device engages with the positioning device. The second movable device engages with the first movable device. The third movable device engages with the second movable device.

Abstract: A screen is mounted between a pair of screen mounting frames, at least one of which is slidable. One or more sliding guide frames are disposed near an end of the screen which is not mounted to the screen mounting frames. Each sliding guide frame is formed by connecting rigid units, each of which has a pair of sidewalls and a bridging portion, and thereby each sliding guide frame has rigidity and a bending ability. The sliding guide frame also has at least a free end at one end and is capable of being received in and withdrawn from inside one of the screen mounting frames. A stopper mechanism provided for the rigid units preserves straightness of a withdrawn portion of each sliding guide frame.

Abstract: A safety barrier comprising a support, a partition frame hingedly connected to the support, and a retractable membrane attached to one end of the partition frame. The partition frame and the support can be extended across an opening, such as a doorway, to securely position the barrier within the opening. The partition frame includes a first member hingedly connected to the support and a second member slidingly engaged to the first member. The retractable member may be deployed toward an opposite end of the partition frame to close off the opening.

Abstract: An adjustable screen apparatus for a window air conditioner. A framework is attached to and extends from an air conditioning unit to fill the space between the air conditioner and the window frame. The framework has three channels in the top frame member and the bottom frame member. Rods affixed to the top and bottom of the air conditioner ride in the center channel and pilot the apparatus as the apparatus is extended and retracted over and under the top and bottom of the air conditioner unit. An extensible louver fits in the inner channels while an adjustable screen fits in the outer channels. The louver can be moved from an open to a closed position. In the position that the louver is open, air can flow through the screen past the air conditioner unit.

Abstract: A device for the treatment of a window or opening that is interchangeable with a variety of rolled sheet materials and serving the purpose of a bug screen, shade screen for sunlight, or an insulating barrier for thermal protection. The device housing, roller tube, and rolled sheet materials are adjustable as to accommodate openings of different widths and heights. The device comprises an adjustable housing which contains an adjustable roller tube upon which the window treatment material is rolled. The adjustable tube has catches at its ends which engage slots near the edges of the treatment material thereby keeping the material at the same width as the adjustable tube when the material is rolled upon the tube. Extending perpendicularly outward from the ends of the housing are adjustable slotted tracks whose slots engage hooks on the sides of the treatment material thereby holding the material in the opening.
