  • Patent number: 11840883
Abstract: Embodiments of an end tip configured to travel in a track of a shade system are disclosed. The end tip includes a body portion having a diameter and including a first section and a second section. The first section has a head portion and is made of a first material having a first hardness, and the second section is made of a second material having a second hardness. The head portion has a width that is wider than the diameter of the body portion, and the first hardness is higher than the second hardness. Also disclosed is a shade system including first and second tracks, a shade, and end tips. The first and second sections of the end tips are configured to separate when a threshold load is applied to the end tips.

  • Patent number: 9956442
Abstract: A curtain is wound on a roller (2), provided in a head box (4), mounted in a ceiling (6). The curtain is also provided with a bottom bar (10). When the curtain is drawn up onto the roller, the bottom bar (10) can be used to close the head box (4). When deployed the bottom bar provides stability to the descending curtain, and in full deployment rests on the floor. The curtain is provided with additional strips (30) of fabric, to allow ease of roll up onto the roller. The strip(s) arc attached at their top end only, to the curtain. Typically this will be by sewing (32), but also may be rivets or other form of heat resistant connection. The strip(s) are also connected to the bottom bar. A cable (34) is attached to the strip(s), usually through a rivet, but any other form of secure attachment may be used. The cable is then connected to the bottom bar, via a spring (36). This connects to keep the strip(s) in tension, to enable ease of rolling of the curtain.

  • Patent number: 9556670
Abstract: A retractable screen structure to cover opening of windows. The structure has a first housing member with a coiled screen mesh therewithin. A second elongated housing member is engaged with an end of the screen mesh extending out of the first housing member. The second housing member has a releasable locking element and is parallel to the first housing member. A cooperative releasable locking element positioned on the window or window frame, is configured to cooperate with the releasable locking element of the second housing member to effect a releasable locking h, The coiled screen mesh substantially covers the opening when uncoiled and is connected to a retracting/extending mechanism contained within the first housing which allows the end of the screen mesh be drawn through an opening in the first housing and uncoiled to substantially cover the opening and to retract the screen mesh when desired.

  • Patent number: 8881790
Abstract: A shading system for a glass-covered vehicle opening includes a pull rod guided between a pair of guide rails. A shading element is attached to the pull rod and is movable between a retracted position and an extended position. Teeth are formed in the guide rails. Gear wheels at opposite ends of the pull rod mesh with the teeth in the guide rails. The pull rod has a gear drive which rotatably couples the gear wheels together.

  • Patent number: 7775255
Abstract: A darkening device (1) which has a shade fabric (10) which is mounted to be able to move for displacement between a receiving position in which it is taken up spaced apart from the region to be darkened, and a drawn position in which it extends underneath the region to be darkened, and supporting arrangement (30) which are able to support the shade fabric (10) in the transverse direction in the region to be darkened. The supporting arrangement (30) holds the side edges (11, 12) of the shade fabric (10), on the one hand, and on the other, tension the shade fabric (10) between the side edges (11, 12) in the transverse direction.

  • Patent number: 5601134
Abstract: A vertical retainer assembly for a roll-up door that selectively blocks and unblocks a doorway, the door including a curtain attached to a roller, and vertical members disposed on either side of the doorway, which include vertically-disposed guide tracks for receiving and guiding the curtain in a vertical plane, the vertical retainer assembly compromising: a horizontally disposed member attached to the curtain, the member being movable out of the vertical plane of the door; and a retaining surface in one of the vertical members at a location external to the guide track, the horizontally disposed member being selectively engageable with this retaining surface which vertically retains the member against upward movement, and prevents the roller from being actuated to roll up the curtain.

  • Patent number: 5232244
Abstract: An impact guarding device includes a shield material in sheet form mounted within the passenger compartment of the vehicle in a manner such that the sheet material can move up and down adjacent the inner surface of the windshield. At least the end of said sheet material which is adjacent a windshield pillar is adapted at its lower end to move in conjunction with a slider, and the slider is adapted to move up and down along a guide rail which is associated with the pillar. The slider is connected to a pull-down mechanism by a tension wire extending therebetween, and the pull-down mechanism has associated therewith a trigger mechanism which is activated upon frontal impact of the vehicle. Thus, upon frontal impact of the vehicle, the trigger mechanism is activated and the shield material is forcibly pulled down. The sheet material may have a handle associated with the lower end thereof, so that the sheet material may be manually pulled downwardly.

  • Patent number: 4890354
Abstract: The window shade lock device includes a handle having a round or elongated hand grip end and a slide connector extending forwardly thereof. The slide connector is pivotally secured, preferably off center, to the preferably generally rectangular body of a slide bearing four spaced, axled, rotatable wheels, two on each of two opposite sides thereof. The wheels are adapted to ride in parallel spaced channels in a window shade side frame. The wheels extend beyond the side margins of the slide body. The slide body extends out of the frame into connection with the connector front end outside the frame. The handle is pivotally movable up and down between a locked and unlocked position. When in the locked position the slide connector front end biases the slide, specifically the wheels thereof, tightly against the frame to hold the lock in position. In the unlocked position the slide connector front end biases and spaces the slide from the frame for free movement therein.
