Abstract: A retractable overhead assembly for a vehicle having a retractable cover (912) under tension and an integrated stiffening rod that includes attachment features (916) to selectively connect to a windshield area. The retractable system is self contained within an extrusion keeping the overall package size small and the installation/removal simple. The retractable cover creates a sun shade over the vehicle front cockpit and/or rear passenger area when deployed, and is retractable to a stowed position. The retractable overhead assembly is installable under any hard or soft top assembly configuration, and does not impede use or operation of the hard top or soft top assembly.

Abstract: The present invention provides an integrated rolling curtain window. The integrated rolling curtain window of the invention includes a profile window. The integrated rolling curtain window further comprises a rolling curtain assembly having a window curtain cover assembly mounted on the top of the profile window, two windproof rails positioned on the front surface of both sides of the profile window, a first connection piece for removably mounting the window curtain cover assembly to the top of the profile window and a second connection piece for removably connecting the said two windproof rails to the front surface of both sides of the profile window respectively. The window curtain cover assembly has a curtain cloth component which could be rolled out and in, and both sides of the curtain cloth component move within the said two windproof rails respectively when the curtain cloth component is rolled out.

Abstract: A roll up guard curtain is disclosed having: a vertical frame structure having a base configured for a floor surface, first and second side supports each coupled to an opposing end of the base, perpendicular to the base, and extending upwardly, and an opening defined as a planar area within the frame structure between the first and second side supports and the base; a drum disposed within the base; a curtain disposed upon the drum and configured to extend upwardly from the drum by a curtain bar and retract downwardly to the drum; and a drive mechanism configured to extend rapidly the curtain upwardly from the floor surface and retract rapidly the curtain downwardly to the floor surface, to vertically raise and lower the curtain within the vertical frame structure, thereby to fill the opening when extended and to provide a rapidly extendable and retractable protective barrier.

Abstract: A shared space divider provides privacy on surfaces. The shared space divider comprises a hub that is placed on a portion of a surface, and at least one partitioning structure coupled to a portion of the hub. The at least one partitioning structure comprises a separator configured to partition the surface into two or more sections. The separator has a ribbon structure, an accordion structure, or a fan structure. The at least one partitioning structure is configured to extend from and retract into or, alternatively, fold out from and fold into the hub. In some embodiments, the shared space divider comprises at least one container for holding items commonly found on the surface. In other embodiments, the shared space divider comprises a clip for attaching to documents. Yet, in other embodiments, images such as advertisements are displayed on at least one of the separator and the hub.

Abstract: A window screen assembly for a window, which is disposed in a window frame. This assembly can include a housing coupled to a window frame, at least one screen disposed in the housing window frame, and at least one lock for selectively locking the screen to the window. In this case, the screen can be locked to the window, so that it moves with the window in the window frame. An end attachment element can also be coupled to the screen wherein this attachment element can be designed to either stand up in a window to allow attachment to the lock or catch on the window or to lay flat to allow for inactivity and detachment of the screen from the window.

Abstract: A frame assembly for at least partially enclosing a raised floor structure includes a bottom frame member positioned adjacent an associated raised floor structure. A pair of spaced apart side frame members are connected to and extend upwardly from the bottom frame member. A top frame member is spaced from the bottom frame member and connected to the pair of side frame members. At least one picket extends between and is connected to the top and bottom frame members. The at least one picket is oriented approximately parallel to the side frame members. A screen is selectively mounted to at least one of the top and bottom frame members and the side frame members. The screen is located adjacent the at least one picket.

Abstract: A vertical guide for a roll-up type screen as used on windows and doors can be used either inside or outside as desired. The guide is placed in opposing relation on the left and right sides of the window or door and includes a first U-shaped retainer which is frictionally attached to a base. The guides allow the user to purchase screens for windows having various width openings since the guides can be adjusted horizontally to seal the edges of the screen and prevent insect and debris infiltration.

Abstract: A hidden window screen assembly for a sash window containing a snap-on cover to conceal the rolled-up screen. The screen assembly fits into the upper and lower frame member of a conventional sash window. When the frame member is opened, the rolled-up screen is extended. When the frame member is closed, the screen returns to its rolled-up position, allowing a clear view through the window.

Abstract: A rolling window screen assembly for use with a window assembly. The screen assembly is deployable in at least three positions. The first engagement position exists wherein the flexible screen may be extended over the entire window. The second engagement position exists wherein the flexible screen is releasably engaged to a sash to enable the flexible screen o be deployed dynamically according to the position of the sash. Finally, the flexible screen may be disengaged from the window assembly and retracted to expose substantially all of the window opening. A pull-cord apparatus having a pull-down non-elastic cord interfacing with an elastic take-up cord may be utilized for manipulating the flexible screen.

Abstract: A retractable window screen assembly which includes a housing easily mounted on an existing double hung sliding window sill or similar type is disclosed. The screen is wound about a spring mounted core and extends from the housing when the window is opened to cover the open space. A pivot bar provides screen to sash rotation to prevent binding when the sash yaws during opening or closing. The core includes a c-shaped member for easy attachment to a generally cylindrical member and a U-shaped member attaches the free end of the screen to the pivot bar.

Abstract: A safety gate attached to a door and its associated jamb, for preventing passage through the doorway of children, pets, or the like. The gate comprises a net attached to the door and to the jamb. At the jamb, the net is attached to a spring loaded return mechanism which also serves as a take-up reel. This return mechanism is firmly anchored to the jamb. The net is removably attached to the door, so that intended passage through the doorway may proceed. The net has a loop which is slipped over a hook fastened to the door. A flexible net deploys instantly, since it constantly spans the jamb and the edge of the door. It retracts by closing the door, requiring no separate effort or manipulation for closing. The net is stored compactly on the reel when not being used. The net is easily removed from the hook by adults, but far less so by small children.

Abstract: A roll-up screen door appliance for drawing a screen panel horizontally across the span of a door frame, which advantageously may be stably positioned in a partly open position for permitting persons to pass through with a minimum opening, thereby reducing the opening size for entry of insects. The screen panel is rolled up on a spring-biassed, vertically-oriented supply roller and is withdrawn by a manually moved pull rod clamped to the distal end of the screen panel. The pull rod is frictionally held in a stable position across the span of the accompanying door frame as it is withdrawn and the friction is overcome manually as the screen is retracted upon the storage roller by a spring biassed mechanism.

Abstract: The invention disclosed herein provides a safety device for inhibiting child access to a storage space. The safety device has a length of flexible material with a first end. The device also has a material retainer for storing the flexible material and allowing the flexible material to be retractably withdrawn from the material retainer. A first connecting member is attachable to the material retainer and a second connecting member is attachable to the first end of the flexible material. The first and second connecting members are positioned in the doorway of the storage space such that opening the door of the storage space withdraws the flexible material from the material retainer and extends the flexible material across the doorway. When a small child opens a storage space door on which the invention has been installed, the length of flexible material is drawn across the doorway of the storage space.

Abstract: A window assembly is disclosed which provides for automatic raising, lowering and locking of a window unit. The assembly includes a lower window frame having threaded holes in the side members thereof and an upper window frame having a motor mounted thereon. The motor drives a pair of vertical shafts that are threadably engaged within the threaded holes in the side members of the lower frame. Rotation of the vertical shafts causes relative movement of the upper and lower window frames, thereby opening and closing the window unit.

Abstract: A roll-up screen door includes a long, narrow housing having a length adapted to extend vertically for the full height of a door casement opening. The housing contains a conventional spring-biased roll upon which is initially wound a large sheet of flexible screen material, one end of which is secured to the roll so that the screen material can be unwound from the roll against the tension of the roll. When the housing is mounted adjacent to one side of the vertical trim strip along one side of the door casement opening, the screen material passes through a longitudinal exit slot in the housing in a plane located inwardly of the front face of the vertical trim strip, so that the screen material sealingly engages the adjacent vertical trim strip when it is stretched across the door opening.

Abstract: The invention is a horizontally operated door barrier which presents virtually an impenetrable doorway barrier while maintaining ease of personnel access through the portal. The invention consists of a movable vertical spool upon which is wrapped a material or screen for covering the doorway. The spool moves laterally across the doorway, rolling or unrolling the screen wrapped thereon, thereby uncovering or covering the doorway. The barrier can be used to prevent passage of insects, moisture, heat, dust and like environments.
