Abstract: A roller shade adapted to be installed in a non-rectangular structural opening comprising a roller tube, a shade material, a hem bar, and a pair of longitudinal side channels. The hem bar may be extendable and may comprise a pair of wheels at its opposite terminal ends. Each wheel is adapted to be retained by and travel within one of the longitudinal channels which are adapted to guide the hem bar assembly along the side jambs and control an extension of the extendable hem bar as the shade material is rolled on or unrolled from the roller tube and the distance between the side jambs changes. The roller shade may further comprise a pair of tension modules adapted to be attached to the hem bar proximate to one of the wheels to provide tension on the hem bar assembly.
Abstract: A guiding rail system for a car curtain comprises: a guiding rail main body in strip which is separatively set on the interior trim on both sides of a windshield, in combination with a car curtain; it is characterized in that: plural positioning parts in sheet with an U-shaped section, which have a bottom, a front clipping piece and a rear clipping piece for clipping on the destined edge of the interior trim; and plural snap pieces, wherein the first end of the snap pieces is set in the guiding rail main body, while the second end of the snap pieces is easily inserted in or detached from the gap between the front clipping piece and the interior trim, thus a guiding rail main body that is easily assembled and disassembled is achieved.
Abstract: A window treatment system and method of installing the system are provided. The system includes a first and a second u-track positioned on opposite sides of a window frame. A first support rod and a second support rod each have a first end positioned in the first u-track and a second end positioned in the second u-track. A shade is coupled to the first and the second support rods and the rods frictionally support the shade and rods within the window frame. The method includes attaching a first u-track to a first side of a window frame and attaching a second u-track to a second, opposing side of a window frame. A shade is installed on the first and second support rods. A first end of a first and second support rod is inserted into the first u-shaped track and a second end of the first and second support rods are inserted in the second u-shaped track.

Abstract: A frame includes longitudinal members secured to one another. The longitudinal members support a spline that is normally open in a first position to provide a cavity. A fabric, such a mesh screen, is arranged over the frame so that the perimeter of the screen is received within the cavities of the longitudinal members. A movable platen is actuated to engage the spline. The splines are forced into the cavities to a second position in which the perimeter of the screen is pinched between the splines and the longitudinal members. A radius nose of the splines is retained in a channel of the longitudinal members securing the screen without tearing it when under load.
Abstract: A latching system includes a rotatable cam formed of substantially symmetric pieces with a cable, connected to oppositely disposed bolts, extending therethrough. The configuration of the cam is such that when rotated, the cable is pulled in both directions with respect to each of the bolts, allowing for the bolts to move so as to disengage from their respective strikers, unlatching the system.
Abstract: In connection with a rear window shade, elastomeric profiled strips are assigned to the guide rails in which the pull rod is guided. The profiled strips are capable of holding the respective end of the pull rod in the guide rail in a substantially rattle-free manner.
Abstract: An overhead door for occluding an opening in a structure. The door includes a pair of tracks having inwardly facing surfaces which define a channel. A door panel is located intermediate the pair of tracks and moveable along a predetermined path of travel which is defined by the tracks. A release assembly is borne by the door panel and is operable to releasably engage at least one of the tracks. The release assembly includes a moveable plunger which is received in the channel of one of the tracks and which guides the door panel along the path of travel. The plunger disengages from the channel when force of a predetermined magnitude is applied to the door panel.

Abstract: A roller shade comprising a spring-loaded retractor, a screen sheet having a trailing edge connected to the retractor, and a rod member attached to a leading edge of the screen sheet. The two ends of the rod member are guided by a pair of guide rails so that the rod member may be moved toward and away from the retractor by using a power drive unit in such a manner that the screen sheet may be paid out from the retractor and extended against the spring force acting on the retractor, and retracted or wound around the retractor, as desired. The rod member incorporates therein a telescopic structure which allows its length to be varied according to the change in the distance between the guide rails as the rod member is moved toward and away from the retractor. Thus, the roller shade can be adapted to windshields, windows or other openings having trapezoidal, curved or other non-rectangular shapes.
Abstract: A glare protection device adapted for use with the rear window of passenger cars, which includes laterally separated flexible guide rails, a pull bar fixed to one edge of a sunscreen, the other edge of the sunscreen being fixed to a roll bar, a pair of hold bars slidably received in the end portions of the pull bar, each of the hold bars engaging respective one of the guide rails.
