  • Publication number: 20030000657
Abstract: The invention concerns a powered rolling shutter whereof the stator of the motor is connected to a fixed support via elastic means (R1, R2) for stopping the shutter in high and low abutment when the resisting torque exceeds a selected value, consisting of two springs (R1, R2) compressed by the stator rotation. The travel distance (12) before one of the springs (R2) is compressed is greater than the travel distance (11) before the other spring (R1) is compressed. The compression is ensured by a mobile element (12) also actuating a switch (18). The travels (c1, c2) required for actuating the switch can be inverted. The motor can be mounted on the left or on the right with a differentiated resisting torque for stopping in high abutment and low abutment.

  • Patent number: 6497267
Abstract: A motorized shade control system is described in which electrostatic charges, generated by a shade fabric being reeled on to and off of a roller are conducted to and grounded by the shaft of a remote drive motor. The drive motor is ultraquiet, and includes a worm gear drive and single-stage reduction gear assembly which delivers about 0.010 to 0.005 horsepower, with motor output shaft rotational velocity limited to no more than about 30RPM. The motor is mounted within a two-part housing and is clamped between elastomeric acoustic dampers connected between pedestals extending from opposite interior wall surfaces to opposite sides of the motor. An H-bridge drive circuit powers the motor under the control of a microprocessor which can be addressed by an infrared remote transmitter or by a wall mount control. Soft start and soft stop circuits are employed to further reduce noise.

Abstract: The instant invention is an apparatus for maintaining approximately constant tension of a curtain between a drive roller and a storage roller. The constant tension is achieved by pre-tensioning the curtain between the drive roller and the storage roller and then maintaining approximately the same amount of tension by rotating the reference to which one end of a spring is attached. The rotating reference is a shaft which is affixed to and rotates with a shaft gear. The other end of the spring is affixed to a cylindrical tube member, i.e., the storage roller, upon which the flexible curtain is stored. A motor driven gear drives a gear affixed to the drive roller. The gear affixed to the drive roller in turn drives idler gears which in turn drive the shaft gear. The top edge of a screen enclosure is coupled to the rod so that the screen enclosure downwardly depends from the rod through the lower slot of the housing. A pair of elongate guide rails are coupled to the exterior of the garage structure on either side of the garage door opening. Each of the guide rails has an elongate guide channel extending therealong.

  • Patent number: 6092582
Abstract: A motor drive for a rolling steel door which includes a motor and a speed reducer driven by the motor to take up/let off the rolling steel door. A brake disk is rotated with the motor shaft of the motor, a sprocket wheel is moved along an axle and forced by a spring into engagement with the brake disk to stop the motor shaft of the motor from rotation. An electromagnet is securely mounted on the axle and magnetized to attract the sprocket wheel for enabling the motor shaft of the motor to rotate freely upon starting of the motor. A lever operated by hand disengages the sprocket wheel from the brake disk. A control box is coupled to the power output shaft of the speed reducer to control the operation of the motor, wherein when the control box is controlled to start the motor, the electromagnet is magnetized to attract the sprocket wheel from the brake disk and enables the motor shaft of the motor to be freely rotated.
