  • Publication number: 20150034267
Abstract: An overflow system for casting a component is disclosed. The system includes a mold formed of sand. The mold includes a top surface that defines an opening for receiving a liquid fluid. A trenching assembly includes a cutting device movable relative to a frame between a first position and a second position. The cutting device includes a cutter that is in a disengaged position spaced from the top surface when the cutting device is in the first position and in an engaged position engaging the top surface when the cutting device is in the second position. The cutter defines a recess in the top surface when the cutter is in the engaged position. The recess is spaced from the opening for receiving excess liquid fluid. The trenching assembly further includes at least one of a blocking mechanism, a blowing mechanism and an adjustment mechanism that assists the cutting device.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a forming machine without pattern casting, including: a multi-axis motion system; a cutting system, connected with the multi-axis motion system; a driving system, driving the multi-axis motion system to move; and a machining base, wherein the machining base includes a fixing seat and a turnover mechanism, wherein the turnover mechanism is revolvably connected with the fixing seat. Since the forming machine without pattern casting of the disclosure adopts a tilting type and needs no working platform, most of the waste sand grains generated from cutting fall freely into the shakeout groove arranged below the fixing seat, and will not fly into the multi-axis motion system, and will not cause stop failure; thus the precision and service life of the forming machine without pattern casting are improved.

  • Publication number: 20090025984
Abstract: A bit mold is milled using a turning stage which forms a base mold component and a base gagering component. Next, a blade milling stage is performed in which the base mold component and base gagering component are milled to define integral junkslot formers separated by blade regions. Lastly, a pocket milling stage is performed in which the blade regions and integral junkslot formers of the base mold component are milled to define a plurality of cutter pockets in primary and perhaps secondary rows. Each cutter pocket includes a seat portion and a face portion. The milling of the pocket milling stage provides, at one or more of the cutter pockets, a facet. This facet is provided in an area about the junkslot former associated with the face portion of the cutter pocket, the face portion having, due to the presence of the facet, a surface for matching a cutter core displacement end surface without voids of a size which would require the use of fill material.

  • Publication number: 20040238144
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing heat-resistant casting molds from molding sand containing binder, particularly for producing an inner contour of casting molds for prototypes, large volumes and deep grooves often being produced especially in the machining of molds for rapid production of prototypes from casting materials. To increase efficiency, in a first step blocks of molding material are produced whose dimensions correspond to a mold cavity depth typically of 300 mm to 400 mm. The inner contour of the mold is then produced oversized with spacing close to the contour of the inner wall of the mold cavity by means of a roughing tool (4) that has an effective cutting diameter of 12 mm to 35 mm. The mold cavity is then machined by fast milling away of the oversize material following the contour, with a finishing cutter (3) that has a diameter-to-length ratio between 1:10 and 1:30.

  • Patent number: 6712121
Abstract: A method for forming an antimicrobially-treated fabric is provided. The method includes forming a solution from a liquid and an antimicrobial agent, such as 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyloctadecyldimethyl ammonium chloride. In one embodiment, a cellulosic fibrous material is combined with the solution while in the pulper to form a liquid suspension such that the antimicrobial agent becomes substantive to the cellulosic fibrous material. A web is formed from the antimicrobially-treated cellulosic fibrous material such that substantially all of the cellulosic fibrous material present within the web is derived from the antimicrobially-treated cellulosic fibrous material. In one embodiment, the web of antimicrobially-treated fibrous material is also hydraulically entangled with a nonwoven substrate. In some embodiments, when dried, the antimicrobial agent forms a covalent bond with the cellulosic fibrous material.

  • Patent number: 4295515
Abstract: An automatic no-bake core and mold-making machine. A frame is rotatably mounted on a base and carries a plurality of core-forming patterns around its periphery. Plates surround the patterns to form a continuous, flat surface interrupted only by the pattern cavity. A mixing machine located adjacent to the rotating frame continuously pours sand and binder on the patterns and surrounding plates. A stationary plow under which the plates and patterns pass continuously wipes excess sand and binder into the next succeeding pattern passing below the plow. Means are provided for ejecting the cores from the patterns after they are cured.

  • Patent number: 4291740
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and a method for heatless production of hollow items, such as foundry shell cores, from the mixture of granular mineral and synthetic binder, as provided by the principal process described in the patent application Ser. No. 22,170, now U.S. Pat. No. 4,232,726 issued Nov. 11, 1980.Two permeable-to-gas patterns form an inner cavity of desirable configuration and are enclosed by non-permeable halves of the pattern box, forming an outer cavity or flow space. The pattern box is mounted on two plates of the rotatable cage assembly, selectively positionable in at least three positions: charge, discharge, and transfer. Above the pattern box are pivotally mounted material supply means, sealing means, and a trimmer. Below the pattern box is a receiver of an air-less conveyor for recirculation of the discharged unhardened material. The pattern box is connected to two manifolds: one for consecutive supply of catalyst gas and the compressed air, another for exhaust and venting.
