    Abstract: A process and an apparatus for pyrolysis of mixed plastic feedstock producing petroleum products are described. In one example, a process for producing petroleum products includes charging feedstock of mixed polymer materials into a reactor apparatus. Heat energy is applied to the feedstock while advancing the feedstock through the reactor apparatus in an anaerobic operation. The energy input to the reactor apparatus is controlled by controlling a temperature gradient within the reactor vessel to produce petroleum gas product. The process involves in situ chemical reactions comprising cracking and recombination reactions that that are controlled to convert solid hydrocarbonaceous portion of the feedstock to molten fluids and gases inside the reactor vessel and to produce gaseous petroleum products which exit the reactor vessel. The separated solid residue from the pyrolysis process is also removed from the reactions vessel.

    Abstract: Elongated, smaller-diameter tube heat pipes have an airflow arrangement that allows for short distances between evaporating and condensing sections of the heat pipe. The heat pipe is exposed to multiple alternate hot and cold zones adjacent to each other. Each evaporator zone accepts input heat to cause evaporation of the working fluid in the wick of the immediate vicinity. The vapor produced moves to either side by local pressure differences to condense in the two adjacent condenser zones where it is absorbed by the wick as a liquid and flows in the wick back to adjacent evaporator zones at each side. Each evaporator zone creates two fluid loops whereby evaporated working fluid splits up left and right, condenses in adjacent condenser zones and flows back to the evaporator zone as a liquid within the wick. Therefore, the overall tube length can be increased indefinitely, without traditional degradation of performance.

    Abstract: A heat-receiving device includes: a plurality of heat receivers into which a refrigerant flows; a series path that comprises a connection path connecting adjacent heat receivers among the plurality of heat receivers, that connects the plurality of heat receivers in series, and into which the refrigerant flows; a bypass path that is not connected to the plurality of heat receivers, and into which the refrigerant flows; a branch path that connects the connection path and the bypass path, and into which the refrigerant flows; and a throttle valve that is provided in the connection path on an upstream side with respect to a connection point of the connection path and the branch path, and that reduces a flow rate at which the refrigerant flows into the connection path as a temperature of the refrigerant flowing into the connection path decreases.

The thermal module includes a two-phase loop system and a heat rejection system. The two-phase loop system includes a thermal collector, a heat flow regulator, a by-pass line, and a condenser. The condenser and the heat rejection system are thermally coupled, such that the heat flow regulator redirects part of the thermal loads from the heat source to the condenser, from which the heat rejection system directs said thermal loads to a heat sink. The temperature of the heat source is regulated by bypassing another part of the thermal loads back to the thermal collector through the by-pass line in a proportional manner, to avoid overcooling the heat source. The heat rejection system is designed based on the hottest possible conditions for the spacecraft mission.
