Control Of Static Pressure Of Conditioned Space Patents (Class 165/234)
  • Patent number: 11876254
Abstract: A solid-state thermal battery system is disclosed herein. The system includes a stationary thermal storage medium that can be charged by adding heat to the thermal storage medium. Actuated heat engines can be utilized to discharge the solid-state thermal battery, converting the heat stored in the thermal storage medium into electricity. The heat engines are actuated in a manner that reduces thermal gradients in the thermal storage medium to increase the efficiency of the system. In one embodiment, the thermal storage medium is contained in a main chamber of an insulated container. The heat engines are stored, when idle, in an ancillary chamber adjacent to the main chamber and moved into the main chamber by an actuation system to begin discharging the solid-state thermal battery. The heat engines follow a path during discharge to dynamically move between regions of the thermal storage medium to reduce thermal gradients induced therein.

  • Patent number: 9605906
Abstract: A heat recovery system captures, stores, and releases waste heat from an exhaust. The system includes a first exchanger that removes waste heat from the exhaust and transfers it to a heat transfer fluid. A second heat exchanger transfers at least a portion of the waste heat from the heat transfer fluid to a storage device. The storage device continuously stores the waste heat until a predetermined temperature is obtained. A pump draws flow of the heat transfer fluid from the first heat exchanger to the second heat exchanger. A valve directs flow of the heat transfer fluid into the storage device during a charge mode and out of the storage device during a discharge mode.

  • Patent number: 9538776
Abstract: A pressurized oven is provided having a fully sealed cavity, reduces heat lost, shortens cooking time and saves energy of oven operation. The pressurized oven includes a cavity component, a door assembly, heating elements and a control system that includes a relief valve on top of the cavity. The relief valve includes a valve weight and a venting stub, wherein the valve weight sits on the top of the venting stub. The valve weight disposed on top of the venting stub remains closed and the gas is not released when the pressure is not sufficient to lift the valve weight. When the pressure inside the oven is sufficient to lift the valve weight, the valve weight block is lifted to open the valve, the gas is released and the pressure is decreased. Once the pressure becomes less than the valve weight, the valve closes and gas is no longer released.

  • Patent number: 5761908
Abstract: A self-contained ventilation apparatus is disclosed for ventilating buildings, e.g., patient rooms such as hospital rooms, waiting rooms, hospital operating rooms, doctors' offices, and clinics, especially rooms contaminated with infectious microorganisms. One or more blowers is provided. When there are two blowers, a first blower is provided for discharging room air to the atmosphere and a second blower is provided for introducing fresh outside air to the room to provide a continuous supply of fresh air to the room which is free of disease organisms. Both streams of air pass through an air-to-air heat exchanger to adjust the temperature of the incoming air to approach that exhausted from the room. When filters are used, both currents of air are preferably filtered, e.g., with a high efficiency particle air (HEPA) filter. Provision is made for automatically maintaining room air pressure at the desired value (typically below that of surrounding rooms) as filters gradually become clogged with dust.
