  • Patent number: 9410713
Abstract: An integrated efficient fan controller circuit device for controlling a fan of a heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system, comprising an input-output port, a voltage regulator, a microprocessor, and a transistor wherein the transistor turns on the microprocessor that sends a trigger signal to the gate of a triac which controls the fan of an HVAC system to switch OFF the HVAC fan operation when the thermostat fan output is in float or unknown state. The proposed circuit avoids the floating state of the thermostat fan output and keeps the HVAC fan either in ON state or in OFF state. The transistor acts as a switch and the collector of the transistor is connected to the input terminal of microprocessor which controls the triac operation. The microprocessor measures the real time temperature of the system and controls the operation of the HVAC fan. The present invention handles the switching OFF of the HVAC fan operation when the thermostat fan is switched to OFF.

  • Patent number: 5592989
Abstract: An electronic thermostat having high and low voltage control capability and varied functional capabilities. The thermostat is particularly suited for use with fan coil heating and cooling units. Specifically the thermostat uses relays to actuate external devices such as heating and cooling equipment, fans and dampers. The use of relays permits control voltages for these external devices to be different (e.g. 24 VAC, 208-230 VAC or 277 VAC).

  • Patent number: 5582237
Abstract: An apparatus for preventing thermal deformation of a machine tool has a feed unit which heats a heat transfer fluid and pumps it out to a heat exchanging portion. The heat exchanging portion has at least one heat exchanging unit capable of being expanded and shrunk in accordance with the heat transfer fluid therein. The heat exchanging unit is arranged in a prescribed portion of a machine tool. The portion of the machine tool is heated by the heat exchanging unit arranged therein, whereby thermal distribution of the machine tool is equalized and heat deformation thereof is suppressed. The heat transfer fluid passed through the heat exchanging unit is recovered by a discharging portion and fed back to the feed unit. The heat exchanging unit is maintained in an expanded state by controlling the flow rate of the fluid passing therethrough by a flow control valve, so that heat exchanging operation can be carried out effectively.

  • Patent number: 5560422
Abstract: A controller for an air conditioner is provided wherein an operation mode is not unnecessarily changed in accordance with variations in temperature. When room temperature t is in a range of T+3.0>t.gtoreq.T+1.5, and when a timer expires (steps 212, 214), it is determined whether the room temperature has a tendency to fall (step 218). When the room temperature has a tendency to fall, it is predicted that the room temperature will be in an observing region although the operation mode is not changed. For this reason, the current operation mode is kept. On the other hand, when the room temperature does not have a tendency to fall, a cooling mode is set (step 210). Further, when the room temperature t is in a range of T-3.0<t.ltoreq.T-1.5, and when the timer expires (steps 222, 224), it is determined whether the room temperature has a tendency to rise (step 228).

  • Patent number: 5558274
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dual duct control system for use in an environmental control system. The dual duct control system is preferably utilized in a dual duct VAV box. The control system advantageously receives room temperature values, mixed air flow values, and positions the actuators in response to temperature values and flow values. The dual duct control system preferably executes a shower algorithm implemented in software to position the actuators. The shower algorithm provides a scheme for incrementally adjusting the hot and cold air flow setpoints for the VAV box so the internal environment reaches a comfortable temperature within a minimum amount of time.
