Patent number: 4460539Abstract: The present invention relates to a device providing anti-seismic support for an apparatus immersed in the bath of liquid alkali metal surrounding a fast neutron nuclear reactor, and abutting by a flange on a slab traversed by the apparatus and resistant to the load that it constitutes, wherein the flange for supporting the apparatus is connected to a sleeve for elastically taking up the horizontal displacements of its top part, independently of an inner envelope of the apparatus and on which a framework for supporting the apparatus whose bottom part is connected to the inner envelope, is fixed at a level determined as a function of the most dangerous earth tremor frequencies.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1981Date of Patent: July 17, 1984Assignee: Stein IndustrieInventors: Jean Andro, Jacques Marjollet

Patent number: 4444625Abstract: Drycleaning fluid is recovered from spent drycleaning fluid filter elements by passing steam through the elements to form a steam/drycleaning-fluid vapor mixture. The mixture is condensed into liquid state and the two constitutents are separated. The apparatus includes a condensing chamber and a separating chamber with a novel valve for ensuring that drycleaning-fluid vapors do not escape into the work area.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1983Date of Patent: April 24, 1984Assignee: Kleen-Rite, Inc.Inventor: Robert G. Patent number: 4342721Abstract: A sodium-cooled fast reactor comprises at least one auxiliary heat exchanger constituted by a plurality of vertical heat-exchange modules each provided with a coolant circuit. A vertical cylindrical passage for each auxiliary heat exchanger extends through the reactor vault roof. The passage diameter is larger than the diameter of a heat-exchange module but smaller than the overall dimension of the auxiliary heat exchanger in horizontal cross-section. Each passage is closed by a shield plug after the modules have been placed in position, the modules being disposed around an axial extension of each shield plug.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1979Date of Patent: August 3, 1982Assignee: Commissariat a l'Energie AtomiqueInventors: Pierre Pomie, Philippe Verriere

Patent number: 4338891Abstract: A system and method for controlling the temperature of the contents of storage vessels integral with an automotive transport power system, which includes a fluid-cooled internal combustion engine, is provided. A portion of the engine coolant fluid is circulated from the engine through one or more heat-exchange pipe coils, each located within a storage vessel carrying diesel fuel, compressed air, hydraulic oil, or the like, for use in automotive transport, to maintain a selected operating temperature in response to a temperature sensor. An auxiliary heating and pumping system is provided for use when the transport system is not in operation. The control system is particularly useful whenever the atmospheric temperature is high (above 90.degree. F.) or low (below 35.degree. F.).Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1980Date of Patent: July 13, 1982Inventor: James E. Blitz
